    OSP Deployment Engineer - Telecom

    Job Description

    • You will be directly responsible for and actively involved in project execution planning, monitoring and control, stakeholders' engagement, and risk averting, in an effective manner that ensures projects are delivered to time, quality, and scope.
    • The role will typically involve everyday visits to project sites to ensure project objectives are not compromised, and where necessary, guide the contractor to solve complex installation problems.
    • The project supervisor is also responsible for the final integration & commissioning of service terminals (GPON or P2P) within acceptable loss levels and submitting test reports required for service fulfillment and maintenance operations.
    • Effective planning of P2P and GPON Fiber Projects.
    • Provide daily project work plan and activity reports to team lead/data analyst, every day, throughout the duration of the project.
    • Provide prompt updates on issues/challenges that may impact project delivery dates.
    • Sign out and move materials to project site, in a timely manner.
    • Review quality of materials supplied to site by the contractor (e.g., PVC, HDPE, GI pipes, iron rods, etc.) and ensure they meet ipNX standards. Reject sub-standard materials and escalate back to your Team Lead.
    • Enforce compliance with work methods and other deployment guidelines within Estates & MTUs.
    • Actively monitor civil works (trenching/ducting, hand-holes construction, pole planting, cabinet installation).
    • Actively supervise cable pulling/MST box installation, splicing, and termination.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations in line with SHE standards, e.g., working at heights, working around power lines, working in greenfield environments, working around underground utilities, working at night, etc.
    • Provide daily/regular activity reports to Estate/Facility Manager in a timely manner and manage issues proactively.
    • Maintain a healthy relationship with Estate/Facility Manager, residents/customers, and other key stakeholders.
    • Ensure a healthy relationship between the project team & key stakeholders (e.g., EM/FM, residents, customers, property owners, area boys, etc.)
    • Validate, submit & track variations until approval.
    • Validate and track milestone payments until approval.
    • Ensure project snags are cleared beforehand over/audit.
    • Submit kick-off meeting reports, milestone reports.
    • Submit MST or P2P splice reportsheets, OTDR trace test and hand-over reports.
    • All reports must be submitted 24hrs after activity/task completion.
    • Attend all project meetings – weekly review meetings, on-site kick-off meetings, divisional meetings, customer-triggered meetings, emergency meetings.
    • Actively participate & lead project hand-over/audit exercise.
    • Proactively engage stakeholders to mitigate escalations that may stall/delay project speed.
    • Provide support to other team members or units where necessary or as instructed by your team lead or unit head.

    Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

    • University Degree in Telecoms, Engineering, or Applied Sciences.
    • Certifications in Fibre Optic Cabling, CFOT or FOA will be an added advantage.
    • Certifications in HSE Grade III will be an added advantage.

    Functional Skills:

    • Proficient use of fiber test tools e.g. OTDR, power meter & Light source, VFL.
    • Proficient use of design software e.g. AutoCAD, Visio/GIS tools, etc.
    • Proficient use of basic data analytics software, e.g. Excel, Word, Google live sheets.
    • Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Oral).
    • Sound knowledge of telecom industry best practices with regard to fiber & civil installation.
    • An inherent culture of documentation - daily project activity reports, As-built drawings, splice reports, OTDR trace reports, project milestone/completion reports.

    Supply Chain and Inventory Officer

    Description

    • To provide support for all Inventory management activities in the region to all departments in order to achieve their operational targets.
    • Implement the company’s policies and guidelines with regards to the Inventory management process while supporting regional operations’ needs.
    • Ensure completeness in all deliveries to the region with real-time documentation of same.
    • Coordinate all daily requisitions from user departments following the guidelines in fulfilling the orders received through PARIC
    • Liaise with the Head for stock replenishment based on the material requirement plan for the region
    • Document all daily transactions, post same on SUN Application.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Inventory management report
    • Perform cyclic stock checks and quarterly Stock count for proper stock accountability for the region
    • Coordinate the end-of-year stock count for the region.
    • Prepare and send to Headquarters a list of faulty equipment for repair and liaise with Headquarters for directive on same on a quarterly basis.

    Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

    • B.Sc./ HND in Social or Management Sciences or related field
    • Documentation skills
    • Inventory Management skills
    • Professional Qualification in Supply Management (added advantage)

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years in Supply Chain Management
    • Basic understanding of Inventory Management.

    Telecom Service Fulfilment Technician

    Description

    • This role is responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness of all ipNX products and directing the development and implementation of service fulfillment strategies in line with customer needs and ipNX’s objective.
    • Supervises laying of cables directly in trenches or string it through conduits running through trenches.
    • Conducts quality control of fibre project at all steps of implementation & acceptance in accordance with the following Fibre Optics OSP Parameter, (Manhole, Route Marker, HDPE & PVC Duct, Bridge Attachments, crossings (road, drainage, streams, etc.), Blowing & Pulling, Splicing, Joint Box, ODF / DDF, Site Entrance etc.
    • Monitors and reports all assigned projects at dedicated sites and ensuring timely completion of projects with strict compliance of HSE policy procedures.
    • Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
    • Proffers cost cutting strategies for each project while showing loyalty, honesty, transparency and dedication in daily duties.
    • Ensures excellent customer relationship management; vendor management, and resolution of complicated community issues as well as other issues.
    • Inspects, approves and signs-off all implementation and as-built-drawings steps and documentation.
    • Optimizes backbone performance and losses by reducing extra cable joints.
    • Manages technical discussion and problem resolutions with vendor and contractor.
    • Submits all progress reports and documentation requirements of the retail business in the project implementation process.
    • Supports the sales and marketing department to complete a sale by verifying ipNX’s infrastructural capability to fulfil customer service installation.
    • Suggests value and service improvement initiatives to customers based on service fulfillment expertise and experience.
    • Receives and manages service escalations from the Customer Experience and Advocacy unit, communicates the status and remediation plan and follows through till the issue is resolved.
    • Develops best fit work methodology to ensure that installations are done at minimal cost and that customer satisfaction is achieved.
    • Structures end to end development and delivery approach.
    • Drives continuous improvement to create efficiencies/ improve products/services.
    • Tracking service metrics, managing budgets and helping lead the professionals responsible for getting services delivered to clients.
    • Ensures provision of excellent customer service by identifying customer needs, handling customer concerns and fulfilling customer requests in a timely manner.
    • Coordinates customer installation process.

    Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent in working experience.
    • A Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or any other related field (preferred).
    • Minimum of 5 years’ Service Fulfillment experience in the IT/Telecommunications field – Broadband Service Operations in particular.
