    Environmental Officer

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a passionate and proactive Environmental Officer to support our environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. 
    • This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or NYSC corps members with a background in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or related fields. 
    • The successful candidate will work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, conduct monitoring activities, and support environmental awareness across company operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in implementing environmental policies and procedures in line with local and international standards.
    • Monitor environmental conditions (air, water, soil, waste) on-site and collect relevant data.
    • Support waste management and pollution control activities.
    • Participate in environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
    • Maintain accurate records of environmental reports, permits, and compliance documentation.

    Production Chemist

    Job Description

    • The role holder will be responsible for coordinating and managing laboratory testing of samples collected from clients' assets and preparing detailed reports

    Key Responsibilities

    • Performing routine sampling and analysis of hydrocarbon fluids, produced water, and gas samples for oil and gas facilities.
    • Conducting laboratory chemical evaluations and field trials for clients' production and specialty chemicals.
    • Preparing and submitting bids, and executing assigned production chemistry contracts.
    • Handling gas analyzers.
    • Monitoring export and import gas quality, including CO2, H2S, ethyl mercaptan, copper corrosion, gas composition, and moisture content.
    • Carrying out flow assurance testing on samples collected from clients' assets.
    • Managing chemical injection facilities for produced water re-injection and other chemical injection skids.
    • Conducting additional sampling and analysis on installations as necessary.
    • Overseeing operations of the production chemistry laboratory.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • BSc / HND in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable oil & gas production chemistry experience, including laboratory operations.
    • Must possess an NYSC discharge certificate.
    • Knowledge of gas sampling and analysis.
    • Proficiency in gas chromatography and gas analyzer applications, including troubleshooting.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and recommend process improvements for fluid sampling and analysis.
    • Experience in laboratory chemical evaluation and performance testing.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • General proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

    Microbiologist

    Description 

    • Our client is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Microbiologist to join our laboratory team in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological analyses of water, environmental, food, and petroleum-related samples to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform microbiological testing on a wide range of samples including water, effluents, soil, and product surfaces.
    • Identify, isolate, and quantify microbial contaminants using appropriate techniques (e.g., culture, staining, microscopy, biochemical testing).
    • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, laminar flow hoods, and colony counters.
    • Prepare culture media and ensure proper sterilization and storage procedures are followed.
    • Record, analyze, and report findings accurately and timely in line with standard operating procedures and client requirements.
    • Maintain and update laboratory records, data sheets, and logbooks in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025).
    • Assist in method development and validation for new microbiological testing procedures.
    • Adhere strictly to laboratory safety, hygiene, and quality control protocols.
    • Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, or related life sciences.
    • 1–3 year experience in a microbiology or environmental laboratory (industrial experience preferred).
    • Strong understanding of microbiological techniques and standards (e.g., APHA, ISO, ASTM methods).
    • Familiarity with quality systems and documentation, especially ISO 17025.
    • Proficiency in lab equipment handling and microbial identification.
    • Excellent observational, analytical, and reporting skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
