Environmental Officer (Entry-Level NYSC Placement) at FMR AGENCY

Job Description

• We are seeking a passionate and proactive Environmental Officer to support our environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. 
• This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or NYSC corps members with a background in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or related fields. 
• The successful candidate will work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, conduct monitoring activities, and support environmental awareness across company operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing environmental policies and procedures in line with local and international standards.
• Monitor environmental conditions (air, water, soil, waste) on-site and collect relevant data.
• Support waste management and pollution control activities.
• Participate in environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of environmental reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
• Raise awareness and support environmental training programs among staff.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and assist with reporting as required.
• Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications

• B.Sc / HND in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
• NYSC members or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
• Good communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is an advantage.
