    Steward

    Purpose of the position 

    • The Steward is responsible for all aspects of cleaning services of all eHealth Africa facility areas. 
    • The Steward works with the office Facility Supervisor to inventory and stock all service items, linens, toiletries and other supplies necessary. 
    • S/he works together as a team to accomplish the task of maintaining a clean, efficient and enjoyable workplace.

    What you’ll do 
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Execute daily maintenance of eHealth Africa facility areas cleaning procedures such as vacuuming/shampooing carpets, dusting furniture, window washing, sweeping and mopping of room floors, restrooms sanitizing/cleaning and trash removal.
    • Performs various cleaning activities of assigned areas – Rooms, lobbies and public areas and ensures assigned areas are kept clean and orderly.
    • Maintains supplies and cleaning agents such as detergents, window cleaners, spot removers, deodorizers and all other agents and supplies.
    • General wipe down of all surfaces and handles, handling outside cleaning needs such as sweeping off walkways, spraying down the side of the building, cleaning signs.
    • Follows schedules, work assignments as determined by the supervisor.
    • Participates in meetings and discussions related to cleanliness.
    • Ensures hygiene, health and safety standards are met at all times.
    • Responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by management.
    • Presents a professional demeanor at all times.

    EOC IT / Admin Officer

    Purpose of the position

    • The EOC IT/Admin coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and technical services to support activities of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). 
    • S/he serves as a primary point of the operational and administrative contact for quality services for internal and external stakeholders. 

    What you’ll do

    • Serves as a primary point of direct administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external stakeholders and partners on a range of specified issues; organizes and facilitates meetings, conferences, and other special events, as required.
    • Organizes and facilitates meetings, conferences, and other special events. Sets up meeting rooms with appropriate technology and arranges lunches, dinners and refreshments for meetings.
    • Performs general secretarial/clerical duties including recording and transcribing minutes of meetings, photocopying, fax, and mailing. Assists in managing all technical equipment (printers, computers, projectors, etc.)
    • Responsible for managing daily task managers and email reminders. Maintains electric and hard copy filing systems prepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, and emails.
    • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day management of supplies, equipment, and facilities for the organization, as appropriate, to include maintenance, inventory management, logistics, security, and related activities.
    • Gathers, enters, and/or updates data to maintain departmental records and databases, as appropriate; establishes and maintains files and records for the EOC. Organizes and maintains electronic and paper filing systems for EOC resources, tools and materials, including files on the shared drive.
    • Provides general administrative/Technical support to the EOC Office Manager and Partners as required.
    • Maintains a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, VPN, Email routing and HTTP. Investigates, diagnoses and solves computer software and hardware faults.
    • Installs, maintains, configures and troubleshoots telecommunication infrastructure, including VOIP phones, AP’s, WLAN controllers including servers, printers, computers workstations, etc.
    • Performs any other duties assigned by Management.
    • Provides technical support to troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.

    Who you are

    • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management or any related field.
    • Minimum of Three (3) years Technical administrative support experience, preferably in an International NGO or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of software and troubleshooting.
    • Able to communicate by various modes such as verbally in-person, Mobile phone, pager, and direct connect/radio.

    Protection, AAP and Gender Coordinator

    About the Role 

    • eHA is seeking to engage a qualified and highly motivated individual as Protection Coordinator to support the implementation of a WFP Monitoring and Accountability Activity in Northwest Nigeria. 
    • Reporting to the Project Manager, the Protection Coordinator will oversee the Monitoring and Accountability protection activity across LGAs in the Northwest and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and oversight of the Protection, AAP and Gender team. 

    What you’ll do 
    Project Coordination and Technical Support:

    • Ensure the development and quality execution of all protection activities at field level in accordance with the agreed work plan (under the supervision of the project manager), and oversee the implementation of protection, CFM and AAP and related activities to ensure that project deadlines are met, and targets are achieved.
    • Supervise Protection, CFM, AAP and community engagement officer to conduct monitoring activities, assessments and community engagements focused on protection concerns. Ensuring that all activities respect principles of confidentiality of interviewees and that all incidents reported to eHA are handled with due regards to protection principles.
    • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the protection situation locally and the priority needs of beneficiaries both in caps and host communities. Compile protection report to inform eHA, donor and other stakeholders.
    • Oversee the mapping of protection stakeholders and follow up with communities.
    • Coordinate and ensure collection of qualitative and quantitative data in respect to confidentiality policies and procedures.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of all activity, including files, reports and other relevant information.
    • Provide support to the project manager in developing project plans, monitoring plans, execution of activities, and other relevant documents.
    • Verify data and information collected, service availability and access through interviews, direct observation and triangulation
    • Monitor project activities, data collection, and reporting to track progress, identify gaps, and facilitate continuous improvement.
    • Establish and implement quality assurance mechanisms to ensure the effectiveness and quality of protection activities.
    • Oversee the engagement with beneficiaries and stakeholders in the area of implementation to raise awareness.
    • Promote Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment: Implement gender mainstreaming strategies to enhance the empowerment of women and girls across all development activities, ensuring their active participation and equal opportunities.
    • Integrate Gender Equality Principles: Offer technical assistance to ensure that gender equality principles are fully integrated into organizational policies, procedures, and operational activities, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.
    • Develop Gender-Related Resources and Training: Create comprehensive strategies, manuals, and training programs focused on gender-related topics to educate and engage beneficiaries and stakeholders, promoting awareness and understanding of gender equality issues.
    • Provide other support as required.

    Capacity Building:

    • Identify training needs and develop capacity building plans for protection staff.
    • Develop and deliver training sessions for staff and stakeholders to enhance skills and competencies in relevant areas.

    Team management and Mentorship:

    • Oversee and support the performance of the protection team through regular supervision, mentoring, and capacity building. Facilitate team meetings, promote a positive working environment, and address any staff - related issues or concerns.

    Reporting:

    • Prepare and submit reports (weekly, monthly and ad hoc) on protection activities in a timely manner and contribute inputs for internal and donor reports.
    • Ensure regular communication with the project manager about updates, achievements and challenges through activity progress reports, meetings and ad - hoc communication.
    • Document the response experiences and lessons learned in the protection component of the monitoring and accountability activity.
    • Ensure compliance with eHA and donor protection standard operation procedure.
    • Produce compelling presentations, training materials and progress reports, that effectively communicate complex information and ensure the dissemination of key insights to internal and external stakeholders.

    Coordination and representation:

    • Coordinate the overall execution of protection, CFM, AAP and community engagement activities.
    • Ensure integration and collaboration between the protection and field monitoring activity.
    • Actively participate in coordination meetings with stakeholders, IDPs, host and  community leaders to ensure information sharing and coordination donor funded activities.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with NNGOs, INGOS, government officials, particularly those working in protection, and participate in relevant coordination meetings in the locations of implementation. 
    • Liaise with other partners, particularly through the protection sector coordination mechanism, to share findings and any issues of relevance and/or concern related to the local context.

    Education:

    Work Experience:

    • 3 - 5 years of relevant professional experience in protection programming in a displacement settlement.

    • Previous working experience with host communities, IDPs and returnees, and in remote environments.
    • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace.
    • Strong understanding of protection principles, likely protection concerns in the context, and best practices.

    • Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as R, Python, or SAS
    • Expertise in SQL and database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
    • Familiarity with workflow management tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi).
    • Strong understanding of data modeling, Databricks, ETL processes, and APIs.
    • Experience in data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Look studio) and creating maps using GIS software.
    • Solid understanding of data management principles, including data cleaning, normalization, and transformation.
    • Significant and advanced statistical experience may substitute for the Master’s degree.
      Relevant working experience in an NGO is desirable. Demonstrated Knowledge of GIS data principles, practices and Techniques, Cartography and data collection systems.
    • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Certifications and Licenses:

    • Certification in cloud services (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
