    Warehouse Manager

    The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations within the JV facility, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material distribution, and dispatch. The role ensures efficient material flow to production, accurate stock management, compliance with documentation standards, and adherence to EHS and regulatory requirements.

    The Warehouse Manager leads warehouse staff, coordinates with Production, Procurement, and Quality Assurance, prevents material shortages, and ensures timely availability of raw materials and finished goods. The position also plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and optimizing warehouse layout and processes.

    The role reports to the Factory Manager.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Oversee and manage end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, storage, dispatch, and inventory reconciliation.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound materials in line with standard operating procedures.
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate closely with Production and Procurement to prevent stockouts or excesses.
    • Implement and supervise cycle counts, stock checks, and periodic inventory audits to maintain accuracy and traceability.
    • Maintain proper storage conditions, segregation, and identification of materials to preserve quality and safety.
    • Optimize warehouse layout, workflow, and space utilization to enhance efficiency.
    • Ensure handling, storage, and movement of materials comply with EHS standards and safe operating procedures.
    • Supervise warehouse staff, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to work instructions and performance expectations.
    • Ensure that all forklifts and material handling equipment are properly used, maintained, and operated by certified personnel.
    • Develop and enforce warehouse policies, SOPs, and documentation systems in line with best practices.
    • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to manage quarantine, non-conforming materials, and sampling procedures.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly warehouse performance reports including inventory accuracy, material flow efficiency, and operational challenges.
    • Resolve issues related to material discrepancies, shortages, damaged stock, and documentation variances.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate warehouse records and demonstrating compliance.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, cost reduction, and warehouse productivity.

    Experience & Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum 7 years’ relevant warehouse or logistics experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
    • Proven experience in inventory management, warehouse documentation, and material flow optimization.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse/ERP systems.

    Relevant Certifications:

    Nigerian Primary (Preferred):

    • Membership/certification from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT Nigeria)
    • Nigerian Institute of Supply Chain Management (NIoSCM)
    • ISPON HSE certification
    • International (Added Advantage):
    • Supply chain/logistics certifications (e.g., APICS, CIPS)
    • NEBOSH/IOSH safety certification
    • Forklift Operations & Safety training
