Requirements

• Proven experience in leading a team of technical insurance professionals.
• Experience in general insurance product development, underwriting, and claims management.

Job Description

• Provide technical guidance and expertise on general insurance products, including policy wordings, endorsements, and claims.
• Develop and implement the general technical insurance strategy, aligning with the company's overall business objectives.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technical insurance professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and expertise to perform their roles.
• Oversee the underwriting process, ensuring that risks are properly assessed, and premiums are adequately priced.
• Ensure that claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that the company's general insurance operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with general insurance products and operations.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including reinsurers, brokers, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

• First Degree in related discipline acquired with not less than 15 years post qualification experience.
• Strong understanding and experience of the principle of Islamic Insurance (Takaful)
• Master's degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
• Professional qualifications in Insurance such as ACIIN or ACII is compulsory.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in underwriting and Marketing, 10 years of which must be at Senior Management level.
• Executive level of creative and innovative competencies. Proficiency in the use of modern, day technology-based service delivery tools.

Job Description

• Define and execute strategic initiatives to drive the direction and focus of the company.
• Lead the initiation and implementation of strategies and policies in accordance with

• Oversee the delivery of projected Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance performance results through effective account management (revenue & product)
• Pursue business growth opportunities by developing and managing key relationships for enhanced revenue performance.
• Manage and execute high level business and process development
• Annually design, implement and manage underwriting, claims and (reinsurance)
• authority, guidelines and approval thresholds.
• Responsible for all technical regulatory compliance requirements as set by the National Insurance Commission.
• Provide direct oversight for day-to-day operations of policy administration and insurance operational functions.
• Other duties as assigned by the MD/CEO and the board.
