    Internal Control Officer

    Reports to : Operational Risk Manager

    Overview

    • Working in the employment of BAOBAB Microfinance Bank Limited, the employee will hold the Resident Branch Controller position with a direct reporting line to the Operations Risk Manager.
    • He shall be responsible for conceptual ownership of all management processes in operations within the branch(s) of the bank.
    • He shall also ensure adequate compliance to information technology industry standards by the bank.
    • He will identify potential risks inherent in the established procedures within these areas of his responsibility and Identify appropriate mitigating control measures against such risks.
    • Where necessary control measures are not in place, the employee shall also be responsible for designing appropriate controls for management approval and subsequent implementations.
    • In this capacity, the incumbent will be a key support to the management and serves as the eye of the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring all employees of the branch comply with laid down rules and procedures in the performance of their assigned roles. In essence, his duties shall focus on ensuring the branch's assets are safeguarded and ensuring the integrity of the branch records.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure adequate vault administration control
    • Ensure adequate control in the handling of late deposits and subject to count deposits
    • Provide control on cash and teller operations
    • Cash shipment control
    • Control on POS, ATM operations etc.
    • Customer verification & field inspection
    • Cheque clearing and fund transfer control
    • Branch / department expenses control
    • Ensure proofing on prepayment
    • Customer service control – Account opening, Reactivation, closing, and client enquiries
    • Risk assets creation and management control, including fund utilization spot check.
    • Money laundering and KYC
    • Environment and premises security
    • Branch fixed assets
    • Mail administration in the branch
    • Store / stock- branch stationeries and filling
    • Branch / department personnel - Attendance register, Leave utilisation and compliance, Staff Engagement, Discipline, etc
    • Branch transaction call over and credit files review
    • Archiving and I.T. at the branch
    • Cooperate with Central Archive Officer in-store management and archives items movement
    • As may be directed by the CRO or Operations Risk Manager.
    • Branch Risk Champion – Branch Risk Register, Issue Management, and Controls.

    Required Profile

    • Minimum of HND / B.Sc. in Accounting or ICAN PE1
    • Internal control or audit practice experience is an advantage

    • Extensive Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Intranet Mailing facility, and the core banking application of the bank

    Estate Management Officer

    Reports to: Chief Risk Officer
    Functional links: Expansion and Admin Manager

    Overview

    • Handle and execute day-to-day operations and management of residential & commercial properties of the bank.
    • Sourcing for properties and having up-to-date knowledge of the real estate market.
    • Interact and ensure smooth relationships between tenants and owners.
    • Building a supply of exclusive mandates.
    • The property manager is responsible for managing, supervising, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics and administrative activities on site. He/she will also ensure client satisfaction, building a relationship between the tenants, the facility team, and landlords.

    Responsibilities

    • Determining the value of all descriptions of landed property and estimating the economic worth of the Landed Property
    • Feasibility and viability studies of all mortgage properties of the bank
    • Assist with architectural drawing and BOQ of any property to be renovated
    • Leasing, Rent, and Sales of properties.
    • Prepare weekly updates and engineering certification for all building and renovations of all mortgaged property, either owned or lease
    • Property management and maintenance coordination.
    • Work with Branch Expansion and Facility manager for proper management of all mortgaged property
    • Give weekly / Monthly Report on all Outstanding Rents
    • Calculate Service charge and Ensure compliance from tenants
    • Ensure all bills (PHCN, Security, Cleaning) are settled promptly
    • Analysis of structure and conditions of buildings and their services and advising on their maintenance alteration and improvement;
    • Valuation of property/assets for various purposes
    • Generate and support new business opportunities
    • Assist in Mortgage valuation of the bank collateral about the credit facility.
    • Cooperate in the development of the Housing facility of the staff and client
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of BSc / HND in Architecture, Estate Management, Building / Civil Engineering.
    • 2-3 years of relevant experience
    • Professional certification in HSE is an added advantage

    Treasury Marketing Officer

    Reports to: Treasury Manager
    Functional links: Financial Controller

    Overview

    • The candidate for this position will be responsible for identifying opportunities and assisting in the marketing and sales of treasury management products while participating in outside business development and driving portfolio growth.
    • The candidate will prepare proposals to prospects as well as accompany lenders on sales presentations.
    • Other tasks include communicating with customers and staff to provide support and to resolve customer issues.
    • Also responsible for effectively selling the Bank's depository and treasury management services to existing and prospective clients, either in conjunction with Relationship Managers or on an individual basis, achieving deposit and fee income goals and solidifying customer retention.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Marketing Treasury products to clients with various degree of diversity to match client’s goals and risk tolerance.
    • Develop and expand the customer base and increase the Treasury Marketing & Sales volume by presenting strategies/ideas tailored to all or specific customer needs.
    • Increase market share and generate profit.
    • Ensure timely and accurate execution of FX, Money Market, Metals or any other related activities.
    • Ensure an effective control on limits, policies and procedures in dealing with clients.
    • Assist Treasury FX & MM and Treasury Marketing & Sales in the supervision and control of the client’s FX activities to contain any lapses and ensure accuracy.
    • Assist and advise customers in developing and controlling FX positions.
    • Develop objectives and action plans to achieve the Bank’s budgeted volume and earning in the area of Treasury marketing.
    • Train assigned individuals in the techniques of Treasury marketing.
    • Dedicate extra efforts and contributions in any special project as/when required.
    • Focus on growth of new client relationships and expansion of existing relationships by identifying and cross selling our global treasury solutions while building a strong sales pipeline.
    • Accountable for responsible revenue growth, profitability, client planning, client calling, portfolio development, pricing strategy, and proposal/presentation development/delivery within the confines of a dedicated client portfolio.
    • Maintain a strong client focus, treasury industry expertise, client subsector expertise and a broad understanding of bank structure and the operational aspects of global cash management products and services
    • Will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and appropriate financial acumen
    • Must also be motivated to maintain a consistent level of goal achievement and be willing to challenge themselves with performance metrics
    • Lead, coach, develop Treasury Sales Analyst in day to day support of client deliverable
    • Will be a digital ambassador driving mobile, digital and real time payments adoption
    • Manage and lead strategic dialogues around key client centric issues, leveraging best practices, peer benchmarking, industry data analytics, and solutioning positioning.
    • Maintain regular client interactions with on-site or virtual meetings, industry conferences, roundtables and client events.

    Requirements and Skills

    • University Degree in a Business-related field, Economics, Finance. An advanced Degree will be an added advantage.
    • 3 - 4 years related experience
    • High level of communication skills required.
    • Strong business orientation with ability to make correct decisions.
    • Strong customer service skills and sensitivity to customer’s needs.
    • Ability to structure and sell Treasury products.
    • Intelligent, confident, good looking and flexible personality that can manage a treasury sales team.
