    Junior Mine Surveyor

    Job Description

    • To assist in carrying out mine surveying activities to support daily mining operations, ensure accurate measurements of mining areas, and maintain compliance with statutory and company requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct routine field surveys, including pick-ups, as-builts, and layout for drilling, blasting, and excavation activities.
    • Collect and process spatial data using total stations, GPS, and drones (if applicable).
    • Assist in preparing survey plans, drawings, and reports for daily and monthly production.
    • Monitor excavation progress and provide accurate volumetric calculations for ore and waste material.
    • Ensure timely and accurate marking of mining boundaries, haul roads, and stockpiles.
    • Maintain and update mine plans and survey databases in collaboration with the planning team.
    • Support reconciliation of physical stock with production and dispatch data.
    • Ensure that all survey equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used safely.
    • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental procedures and regulations.
    • Provide support during internal and external mine inspections and audits.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
    • 0–2 years of relevant experience in mine surveying (internship or field exposure preferred).
    • Familiarity with survey instruments (Total Station, GPS, Levelling Equipment, etc.).
    • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Surpac, or other mine planning/survey software is an advantage.
    • Good understanding of mine layouts and mining operations, and strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
    • Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments and willingness to learn and take initiative

    Mine Surveyor

    Responsibilities

    • Conducting mine surveys to gather information on the size, shape, and location of underground mines
    • Developing and maintaining detailed maps of the mine to track changes and identify areas for improvement
    • Calculating volumes and tonnages of mined materials to ensure accurate reporting and inventory management
    • Implementing and maintaining survey equipment and software to ensure accurate and efficient measurements
    • Working closely with the mine operations and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and ensure that surveying processes align with overall mine goals and objectives

    Qualification and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor in an underground mining environment.
    • Professional certification in surveying or geomatics is an added advantage.
    • Experience in the mining or natural resources sector.
    • Proficiency in surveying software and geospatial analysis tools.
    • Strong understanding of mining regulations and safety standards.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Blaster

    Job Description

    • The Blaster is responsible for safely handling, loading, and detonating explosives for rock fragmentation in surface or underground mining operations.
    • This role ensures all blasting activities are executed in line with regulatory requirements, company safety standards, and operational targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Execute blasting operations as per approved blast designs and schedules.
    • Handle, transport, and use explosives in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Prepare blast holes, load explosives, and initiate blasts using correct procedures and safety measures.
    • Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections to ensure safe conditions and effective fragmentation.
    • Coordinate with drilling teams to ensure hole quality and blast readiness.
    • Monitor and control fly rock, ground vibration, air blast, and other environmental impacts.
    • Maintain accurate records of explosive usage, blast reports, and inventory.
    • Secure and account for all explosives and accessories in accordance with statutory requirements.
    • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or deviations in blasting operations.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • High School Certificate / Technical Diploma in a related field (preferred).
    • Valid Blaster’s License/Certificate of Competency (mandatory).
    • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in drilling and blasting activities in a mining environment.
    • Strong understanding of explosives, blasting accessories, and initiation systems.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency procedures related to explosives.
    • Physically fit and able to work in demanding conditions.

    Diesel Supervisor

    Job Summary

    • The Diesel Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of diesel-powered equipment and machinery used in mining operations.
    • This role ensures maximum equipment availability, compliance with safety standards, and optimal use of resources to support production goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate the servicing, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, excavators, drills, loaders, generators).
    • Assign tasks to diesel mechanics and technicians and ensure timely job completion.
    • Monitor equipment performance and initiate corrective maintenance actions when required.
    • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and parts inventory.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to diesel engines and associated systems.

    Drilling & Blasting Engineer

    Job Summary

    • The Drilling and Blasting Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, monitoring, and optimizing drilling and blasting operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective ore extraction. 
    • The role involves working closely with mining operations, geology, and safety teams to achieve production targets while adhering to regulatory and environmental guidelines.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and develop optimal drilling and blasting patterns for both surface and/or underground mining operations.
    • Supervise and monitor drilling and blasting activities to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
    • Conduct blast performance analysis and implement improvements based on blast outcomes (fragmentation, vibration, dilution, etc.).
    • Coordinate with geology and operations teams to align blasting plans with ore body geometry and mining schedules.
    • Prepare and maintain blasting reports, logs, and regulatory documentation.
    • Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of explosives in compliance with statutory regulations.
    • Liaise with explosive suppliers and contractors, ensuring quality and timely delivery of blasting materials.

    Mechanical Technician

    Description

    • The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical systems and equipment within the pelletizing plant.
    • This role supports plant operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and contributing to safe and efficient production.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on pellet plant machinery such as indurators, balling discs, conveyors, screens, pumps, fans, and gearboxes.
    • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective repairs to reduce plant downtime.
    • Inspect mechanical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
    • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and overhaul of mechanical equipment and systems.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Technical Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
    • Minimum 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a pellet plant or similar heavy industrial environment.
    • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work orders.
    • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and condition monitoring tools.
    • Strong understanding of safety practices in heavy industry environments.
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo) is an advantage.
    • Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
