    Procurement Officer

    Job Description

    • The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining supplier relationships.
    • The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a thorough understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to analyse market trends to make strategic purchasing decisions.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
    • Maintain a comprehensive vendor database.
    • Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and compliance with contract terms.
    • Manage the procurement of materials, supplies, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of all procurement activities.
    • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
    • Monitor and analyze supplier performance against key performance indicators.
    • Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
    • Monitor and forecast inventory needs based on project requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and ethical standards.
    • Generate and present procurement reports to management, detailing purchasing activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance.
    • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, logistics, and operations, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
    • Provide training and support to team members on procurement processes as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    • 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
    • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Knowledge of renewable energy procurement practices is a plus.

    Project Design, Estimation, Operations & Maintenance Engineer

    Description 

    • Successful Candidate will be responsible for electrical calculations and designs, preparation of bill of materials, Project Cost estimate, detailed construction designs, as-built drawings, RFI, RFQ. You will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of equipment and systems within the facility, performing routine inspections, managing repairs, and optimizing operational efficiency, as well as ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
    • In this role, you will also work closely with our sales and project execution team.

    Responsibilities 
    Specifically, the position will involve some or all of the following:

    • Design solar solutions for projects – Mini-Grid, rooftops, etc.
    • Provide cost estimates for projects based on prepared design, drawings and BOQs.
    • Preparing SLD, Site Layout
    • Performing electrical calculations (cable sizing, Breakers, Grounding studies)
    • Materials / Equipment selection – Cables, Inverters, charge controllers, ESS, transformers, ATS, etc.
    • liaise with suppliers/vendors / OEMs for favourable quote
    • Design of electrical panel – LV/MV Panels – synchronization panel, combiner box
    • Creating electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software
    • Performing PVsyst modeling.
    • Developing flawless designs for conduit and wire scheduling, routing and equipment plans.
    • Executing designs that adhere to grid compliance and permitting requirements
    • Compiling detailed bills of materials based on system specifications
    • Coordinating with the management team to develop complete proposal packages
    • Working with business development, project and installation teams to meet client’s needs and internal design standards.
    • Travel to the project site as required and requested to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with external contractors.
    • Assist in the daily operation of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if required.
    • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including logs of repairs and maintenance activities.
    • Generate reports on maintenance activities and operational efficiency for management review.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Participate in safety training and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
    • Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and reduce downtime.
    • Train and mentor junior personnel or interns as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / Renewable Energy Engineering.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Previous internship and/or related consulting experience (preferred).

    Candidates must have sound experience with the following:

    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience performing solar engineering design as well as operations and maintenance (required).
    • Electrical distribution systems at 11kV and 33kV power levels
    • Able to perform Electrical calculations.
    • Knowledge of electrical design theory and concepts.
    • Knowledge of IEC, NEC Code and AC/DC Design Theory.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others towards resolving design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
    • Ability to independently complete required design
    • Ability to independently perform power optimization studies using PVsyst to meet client requirements or propose feasible options for any given site.
    • COREN Certification is an added advantage.

    Software Requirement:

    • AutoCAD - expert level - at least 7 years of hands-on drafting experience
    • PVsyst at an advanced level and knowledge of other PV design software preferred (Homer, PVCase, Helioscope, Helios 3D, SunDAT, or PVMega), ETAP
    • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project).

    Head, Technical Department

    Core Responsibilities

    • Develops and applies modern engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems.
    • Will provide technical guidance/training over a group and supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity
    • Will be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
    • Assemble, install, or maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics.
    • Will include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. May perform minor electrical work such as current checks.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead and contribute to projects for solar resource assessments, energy production estimates, performance assessments of operating projects, siting, performance testing, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, component modeling, conceptual design, and strategic planning.
    • Provide expert consultation on solar PV plant components such as modules, inverters, meteorological stations, and trackers.
    • Supervision of solar PV design optimization for cost reduction and performance improvement, including for engineer-procure-construct (EPC) projects.
    • Contribute to business development with key clients including identification of key drivers, scoping, proposal development, and relationship management.
    • The position will also include exposure to other renewable technologies: biomass, wind, geothermal, hydro, etc.
    • Through own knowledge and design, coordinate and lead training programs (outsourced or in-house) for on-boarding of our independent contractors/channel partners who are or want to become successful solar installation companies.
    • With excellence in detail and design, develop and deliver high-impact learning through utilization of multi-media approaches to maximize participation, effectiveness, comprehension and application.
    • Create comprehensive, brilliant, yet simple training presentation materials including facilitator guides, participant guides, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, games, assessments, etc.
    • Successfully navigate the important and complex relationships with our partners, which includes effectively mentoring individuals from executive staff to field personnel on various matters from financial statements and cash flow management to technical aspects of our products.
    • Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training through KPIs assessed in training exit interviews our testing.
    • Partner with senior level internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design results.
    • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records approach and details.
    • Assess the job site, identify and resolve any potential hazards
    • Create or interpret the solar panel installation plans, mapping out the steps of the installation and where all of the components will be installed.
    • Install, inspect, maintain and repair solar panel systems, including the solar collectors, concentrators, batteries, pumps, fans, or support structure.
    • Supervise all electrical work needed to connect solar system to electric grid. This includes proper grounding systems, controls and all testing necessary.
    • Weatherproof the solar installation in accordance with local safety regulations and the specifications of the manufacturer.
    • Management of staffing and resources required for on time solar project completion
    • Perform regular check ins/site visits with on-site personnel to track project progress
    • Serve as point of contact for customers & clients for each project
    • Provide progress reports and regular updates to clients and senior management as required.
    • Supervise service operations team in troubleshooting issues related to installation
    • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.

    Skills Set

    • Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc / M.Sc Degrees with 7 - 10 years relevant work experience.
    • Awareness of the latest Solar market trends and shifts, as well as projections for the future

    • Demonstrate both analytical and creative capabilities.
    • Proven work experience as a trainer, training facilitator or coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting.
    • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
    • Ability to manage multiple projects while working under pressure and time constraints.
