    Media Manager

    Summary:
    The ideal candidate should possess relevant experience and knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of both the traditional and new media platforms to ensure maximum mileage for the organisation’s message & work - developing awareness, generating traffic and cultivating engagement.

    He/she must be a highly motivated individual with experience and passion for governance, politics, content strategy, blogging, and micro-blogging.

    Responsibilities

    Digital Media Management

    • Manage the organisation’s presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Whatsapp and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed.
    • You will serve as day-to-day liaison between the organization and its online communities; Locate and engage advocates/ influencers within the community (Facebook, Twitter,YouTube, Instagram, Whatsapp etc.) to foster dialogue.
    • Provide a weekly summary of analytics of our social media platforms and regularly share insights and analytics gained from social media monitoring with the team.
    • Provide a monthly report on the organisation’s media presence, trends, opportunities and challenges.
    • Explore & experiment with alternative channels to disseminate Organisation’s message and
    • showcase its work.
    • Adapt the organisation’s media strategy in a timely fashion to ensure relevance.

    Content Curation

    • Draft media materials, including press releases, statements, quotes and briefing documents ensuring accuracy, appropriate sign off and placement.
    • Communicate briefs to external suppliers (3rd parties,) and validate every content and material used by Organisation.
    • Ensure key messages are accurately and consistently expressed in relevant media.
    • Relationship Management
    • Manage the organisation’s relationships with traditional media partners (newspapers, radio & tv), new and online media partners.
    • Build strategic relationships with local, regional and international media outlets.
    • Manage the organisation’s relationships with media vendors – videographers, newspaper, script writers, producers, printers etc.
    • Implement media activity across projects and events to meet set objectives.
    • Inspire and empower colleagues to use online tools and engage actively online.
    • Serve as contact person for the Organisation’s appearance, printing, publishing, and all digital content.

    Desired Competencies & Experience

    To be selected for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following competencies

    • Possession of a degree in a relevant field.
    • 3- 5 years previous work experience in a similar role.
    • Have apt knowledge and interest in governance and politics.
    • Have a high comfort level with social media platforms such as:  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc.
    • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), organisational and interpersonal skills.
    • Display a high level of attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure.
    • Have valid contact in traditional and new media.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian languages with previous NGO experience is desirable but not compulsory.
    • Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical and achievable plans.
    • Ability to work well with senior management, colleagues and the public.

    IT/Database Manager

    Summary:

    The ideal candidate would lead the development, management & maintenance of the organisation’s primary website and project websites. Developing and monitoring of ongoing web based media campaigns as well as management of the organisation’s IT and media assets (online & offline) e.g. hardware, software, pictures & videos etc.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, implement, administer and maintain all of the Organisation’s IT infrastructure at scheduled periods e.g. additions, deletions, major modifications, updates, upgrades, subscriptions, renewals, set-up, configuration, back-ups and scanning
    • Responsible for troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
    • Work with team to help implement the Organisation’s IT related projects e.g application development, SaaS, work tools, social media campaigns, web and SMS driven platforms, etc.
    • Review, upgrade and ongoing development of the Organisation’s website.
    • Increasing the site’s search engine optimization and ranking through search engine ranking, meta descriptions and site sharing.
    • Review and make informed decisions in recommending the purchase of hardware, software and other IT supplies.
    • Ensure website content is relevant and up to date and replicate content of weekly newsletter on website every week.
    • Monitor web traffic and providing monthly reports.
    • Maintain a very high level of password security for all the Organisation’s accounts and assets – online and offline.
    • Ensure domain registrations and hosting are current and properly manage and allocate permissions for site users.
    • Building and maintaining required databases.
    • Minimise database downtime as well as updating and amending existing databases.

    Desired Competencies & Experience

    To be selected for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following competencies

    • Possession of a degree in Multimedia Design, Information Technology, Computer Science or any other related field.
    • 3- 5 years previous work experience in a similar role
    • Knowledge of database management programs
    • Strong understanding of best practices for online usability, accessibility and search engine optimization.
    • Knowledge of web trends, analytics and necessary tools to track & manage
    • High degree of trustworthiness, discretion & confidentiality.
    • Display a high level of attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure

    Graphics Designer

    Summary:

    Responsibilities

    • Conceptualize and design all visual material, including logos, e-flyers, brochures, Infograph, website images, charts, posters, reports, newsletter templates, promotional materials, and invitation cards etc. for use in new and print media.
    • Prepare layouts, designs, artwork and formats for use in online broadcast, publications and/or exhibition display.
    • Creatively and spontaneously curate contents – graphics, cartoons, short skits and/or videos on trending governance issues as directed.
    • Maintain database and retrieval system of all design and references used in creation of published materials.
    • Design graphics to precise requirements and brief.
    • Maintain a cohesive visual identity and implement branding guidelines.
    • Propose the organisation’s brand manual/strategy in collaboration with the media manager and executive director, document best practices and update branding guidelines as needed.

    Desired Competencies & Experience

    To be selected for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following competencies

    • Minimum of a OND/HND/BSc in a related field
    • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Proficiency with Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or other visual design tools
    • Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software
    • Have apt knowledge and interest in governance and politics.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects.
    • Display a high level of attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure.
