    Pharmacy Technician

    Job Description

    • We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. You will also undertake other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly.
    • As a pharmacy technician you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.

    Responsibilities

    • Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening
    • Greet customers and answer questions
    • Receive prescriptions and check their validity
    • Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
    • Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims)
    • Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
    • Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
    • Undertake administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) as assigned
    • Comply with all security measures and quality standards.

    Requirements and Skills

    • Proven experience as pharmacy technician
    • 1 - 2 years work experience.
    • Experience with an online prescription system is a plus
    • Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
    • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Outstanding organizational skills
    • Reliable with a keen eye for detail
    • Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program
    • Certified Pharmacy technician is an asset.

    Registered Midwife

    Job Summary

    • The Midwife will be responsible for providing maternal and newborn care services with a focus on the prevention, early detection, and management of neonatal jaundice.
    • The midwife will work in health facilities and community settings, delivering clinical care, supporting newborn monitoring, and educating families on neonatal health and jaundice prevention.
    • The role includes close collaboration with healthcare teams, community health workers, and families to ensure timely intervention for newborns at risk.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide routine maternal and neonatal care with a focus on the early detection and management of neonatal jaundice.
    • Conduct regular physical assessments of newborns, monitoring for signs of jaundice.
    • Administer appropriate treatments for neonatal jaundice, following established protocols, including phototherapy and referrals to higher-level care if necessary.
    • Work closely with paediatricians and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for newborns.
    • Educate mothers and families on the causes, signs, and prevention of neonatal jaundice.
    • Provide breastfeeding support and counseling, emphasizing its role in preventing jaundice.
    • Offer guidance on monitoring infants at home for early signs of jaundice and the importance of seeking timely medical attention.
    • Accurately document all newborn assessments, treatments, and follow-up care in patient records.
    • Report any complications or critical cases to the Matron and refer severe cases to appropriate healthcare facilities.
    • Contribute to data collection for monitoring and evaluation purposes, including reporting on neonatal jaundice cases and treatment outcomes.
    • Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, including doctors and nurses, to ensure continuity of care for mothers and newborns.
    • Coordinate with local health facilities to ensure timely diagnosis, treatment, and referral for neonatal jaundice cases.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Registered Midwife (RM)
    • At least 2years of experience in maternal and newborn care, including neonatal care. Experience in managing neonatal jaundice or related conditions is an advantage
    • Strong clinical skills in maternal and newborn health, including the ability to recognize signs of neonatal jaundice.
    • Knowledge of neonatal health interventions, including phototherapy and other jaundice treatments.
    • Excellent communication and counseling skills to educate families and promote health-seeking behavior.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
    • Competencies:
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
    • Culturally sensitive, with an understanding of local health practices and community engagement.
    • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Proficient in medical record-keeping and reporting.
