    Head, Information Technology

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Develop the IT strategy, plans, policies and procedures in line with the Corporate strategy
    • Ensure availability of robust IT platforms and infrastructure to support the business operations
    • Manage the delivery of seamless IT services to users across the organisation and in line with business requirements and agreed service level standards
    • Direct the development and execution of company-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans
    • Develop and implement company-wide information security procedures and evaluate business risks associated with critical IT operations
    • Plan, implement and control projects related to the selection, acquisition, development, installation and maintenance of major information systems for the Exchange
    • Manage IT vendors relationships
    • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support
    • Develop a comprehensive long-term technology plan for the company, including any required training for employees
    • Manage the company’s technology staff, and participate in the hiring of new employees as needed
    • Provide leadership in the development of new technology applications or processes
    • Create detailed project plans for technology projects, including both capital expenditures and operating expenses
    • Monitor industry trends to identify new opportunities for the company’s products or services
    • Develop new ideas based on emerging technology trends in order to stay ahead of competitors.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or related discipline,
    • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an advantage.
    • Relevant and recognised professional certifications
    • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in a similar one, with at least five (5) years in a middle management role.
    • Extensive experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
    • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
    • Experience in controlling information technology budget.

    Head, Internal Control and Risk Management

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Develop risk maps and formulate strategic action plans to help minimise, manage, and mitigate primary risks and then monitor the progress of these efforts. 
    • Ensure that business operations are run with full compliance to the Exchange’s internal control standards.
    • Create and disseminate risk analysis reports and progress reports to different stakeholders, including employees, board members, and C-suite executives. 
    • Formulate and implement risk assurance strategies that are related to the transmission, storage, and use of information and data systems. 
    • Conduct risk assurance and due diligence on behalf of the Exchange in the events of acquisitions and other business deals. 
    • Provide assurance services as to whether the organisation’s risk management, control and governance processes are in line with industry and regulatory practices and standards
    • Serve as a principal advisor on all matters involving operational risk management and effectively monitors the business processes and operations
    • Review workflows, process steps and existing policies and procedures to identify areas of risks and provide recommendations for mitigation
    • Develop and update action plans, risk dashboard, review changes to processes and provide support to management regarding risk and compliance metrics
    • Assess, control and make recommendations to enhance the company’s Risk Management activities
    • Identify and report significant risk exposures and control issues including fraud risks, governance issues, and other matters that pose a threat to business operations
    • Ensure that risk management priorities are reflected in the Exchange's strategic plans.
    • Promote risk awareness, a positive culture of confident and informed risk-taking through training, communication and promotion of the agreed risk framework
    • Manage compliance with regulatory requirements on a federal, state, and local level.
    • Lead the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics or related field. 
    • MBA or Master’s is an advantage
    • Relevant professional certification e.g.ACCA, CFA, ICAN. 
    • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in a similar role of which at least five (5) years must have been in a management role.
    • Well abreast of regulations relating to compliance, general accounting, and management controls
    • Sound knowledge of IFRS standards and reporting guidelines
    • Strong ethical standard, objectivity, qualitative risk-based thinking and problem-solving skills.

    Head, Warehousing & Quality Operations

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a warehouse management plan in alignment with the Exchange’s long-term priorities.
    • Ensure the operational activities of the warehouses are planned, coordinated and implemented in accordance with the Exchange’s rules & regulations.
    • Coordinate the process of developing and monitoring the delivery of annual budgets for warehouse operations.
    • Design, implement, and ensure adherence to warehouse operations manuals and manage core staff in the various warehouse operational units.
    • Oversee the quality control and assurance process of commodities across the warehouses of the Exchange.
    • Develop, review and implement relevant operational policies, systems and quality operating procedures of the Exchange.
    • Develop new commodity standards and specifications.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations.
    • Develop the procedures and guidelines regarding the selection and designation of warehouse operators, joint liability, performance guarantees and monitoring, and indemnity measures.
    • Develop and implement the warehouse operations annual plan to ensure alignment with the strategic plan of the Exchange
    • Design, implement, and ensure adherence to operational manuals and manage core staff in the various operational units
    • Develop new commodity standards and specifications
    • Develop operational strategy with the communications, client relations and IT units to ensure seamless integration of the end-to-end operations of the exchange

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Agricultural Science or related field.
    • Recognised and relevant professional certification(s).
    • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in a similar role, five (5) of which must have been at a middle management level.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of the commodities market ecosystem
    • Knowledge of national and international standards and specification on agricultural commodities.

    Head, Human Resources

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Articulate and drive execution of the HR strategies, policies, and processes in line with the organisation’s business strategy, key business objectives and relevant employment laws
    • Develop and implement programmes and change interventions to enable the implementation of defined corporate values and organisational culture
    • Evaluate, present the case for change, and drive the implementation of the appropriate resourcing and talent management initiatives to ensure that the organisation has the talent required to deliver its strategy
    • Advise and coach Heads of Business Divisions and Units on staffing and development to ensure optimal returns on investments in people
    • Work with the Heads of Department and Line managers, to design and implement staff training & development strategies and plans to ensure identified needs are addressed with appropriate training interventions
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership on the development and implementation of effective HR procedures and policies in all areas to reflect organisational objectives. This includes policies relating to Recruitment and Selection, Compensation, Performance Management, Learning and Development, Employee Welfare, Succession Planning, Retention, etc.
    • Support the corporate decision-making process by working closely with business leaders to provide relevant information, counsel and advise.
    • Develop an effective manpower planning in alignment with organisational strategy
    • Develop a strategic recruitment practice/procedure to ensure the talent needs of the organisation are met in the short and long run.
    • Plan and coordinate the organisation’s workforce to best use employees’ talents.
    • Design and oversee the implementation of the organisation’s employee retention programmes in order to minimise employee turnover rate and maintain optimal headcount in alignment with defined manpower plans.
    • Oversee effective performance assessment and enhancement systems required to support and sustain a high-performance culture within the Exchange.
    • Assess worker productivity and recommend changes to the organisation’s structure to help the organisation meet budgetary goals.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate communication channels to keep all employees informed of key organisation issues, HR policies and procedures.
    • Manage all employee and employer related issues and ensure minimal exposure of the Exchange to litigation or related employee risks.
    • Develop and implement the Learning and Development Strategy of the organisations in line with business objectives.
    • Maintain a robust Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure optimal HR service delivery.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or related discipline
    • MBA or Masters’ degree is an added advantage.
    • Professional certification in Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
    • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in a similar role, with at least five  (5) years in a middle management position.
    • Strong track-record in HR strategy development and implementation
    • Proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships across all organisational levels and manage change initiatives.

    Head, Finance

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Engage Executive Management and the appropriate Board Committee to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections as well as manage financial risks
    • Develop and maintain a system of appropriate financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient financial management
    • Oversee the preparation and communication of timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reports for investors/lending institutions and the organisation’s management on a periodic and /or ad-hoc basis
    • Monitor the organisation’s operating base costs and highlight factors impacting effective cost management

    • Develop and utilise financial models and activity-based financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning
    • Provide advice on liquidity, investment and financial asset management
    • Provide advice to Executive Management and the relevant Board Committee on the financial implications of business plans and projects
    • Advise management on financial benefits or demerits of proposed projects, changes in financial regulations and legislations as well as changes in competition and market trends
    • Analyse cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders
    • Coordinate investor relations activities including preparation of communications such as presentations and press releases
    • Develop and manage key relationships with relevant external bodies/contacts.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration,  or any related discipline.
    • ACA, ACCA, CFA certification.
    • MBA or Master’s degree is an advantage.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience in a similar role, five (5) of which must have been spent in a middle management role.
    • Sound business and financial acumen
    • Proven entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial accomplishments with a reputation for successful execution.
