    Tooling & Automation Lead - Africa

    Job Summary

    Position Summary The Tooling & Automation Lead is a Senior Manager-level role responsible for identifying, implementing, and managing the technology tools and automation capabilities that underpin KPMG T&I's delivery operations. This role removes manual effort from the delivery workflow - automating governance, reporting, communication, and testing processes - and ensures that KPMG T&I's internal delivery infrastructure keeps pace with the growing scale and complexity of the portfolio. As AI-powered tooling increasingly transforms professional services delivery, this role ensures KPMG T&I remains at the leading edge of technology-enabled service delivery.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    1. Delivery Tooling Strategy and Implementation (50%)
    • Define and maintain KPMG T&I's delivery tooling strategy - selecting, implementing, and managing the technology stack that supports project delivery, governance, and client communication.
    • Evaluate and implement tooling for project management (Jira, Smartsheet, ADO), document management (SharePoint, Confluence), reporting automation, and communication (Teams, Slack).
    • Work with the PMO Lead (Block C) to automate portfolio reporting, RAID tracking, and financial forecasting - replacing manual spreadsheet processes with connected, automated systems.
    • Implement AI-powered tooling where appropriate - including document generation, client reporting, status update automation, and meeting summarisation.
    • Manage KPMG T&I's tooling infrastructure, including licence management, access controls, onboarding processes, and tool performance monitoring.

    (b) Automation and Efficiency Engineering (35%)

    • Identify manual, repetitive delivery processes across the T&I portfolio and develop automation solutions to eliminate them.
    • Build automation workflows for common delivery tasks - proposal formatting, status reporting, RAID updates, timesheet consolidation, invoice preparation, and milestone tracking.
    • Develop and maintain KPMG T&I's testing and automation frameworks for use on software delivery engagements - reducing client testing effort per project.
    • Collaborate with the Asset Enablement Lead to integrate automation capabilities into the asset library, making them reusable across engagements.
    • Track and report automation ROI - measuring the delivery hours saved and cost reduction achieved through tooling and automation investments.

    (c) Enablement and Adoption (15%)

    • Drive adoption of KPMG T&I's delivery tooling stack across all capability blocks - providing training, support, and change management to maximise utilisation.
    • Maintain documentation and user guides for all KPMG T&I delivery tools.
    • Stay current with emerging AI-powered delivery and automation technologies - evaluating and piloting new tools that could enhance KPMG T&I's delivery efficiency.

    Requirements

    Academic/ Professional qualifications and Experience:

    • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
    • Certification in at least one automation or DevOps platform (Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Robotic Process Automation, or equivalent).
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in technology delivery or operations, with at least 3 years in a tooling, automation, or DevOps engineering role.
    • Hands-on experience building automation workflows using low-code/no-code platforms (Power Automate, Zapier, Make) or scripting (Python, PowerShell).

    Position Summary

    The Velocity / Asset Enablement Lead is a Senior Manager-level role responsible for building the operating leverage mechanisms that allow KPMG T&I's revenue to grow faster than its headcount - specifically through the systematic codification, management, and deployment of reusable delivery assets, accelerators, and intellectual property. This role ensures that every KPMG T&I engagement benefits from the accumulated knowledge of previous engagements, reducing delivery effort per dollar of revenue and enabling consistent quality across markets. The Velocity Lead's contribution is measured through asset reuse rates, delivery efficiency gains, and the maturity of KPMG T&I's intellectual property portfolio.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    Asset Development and Library Management (50%)

    • Design and manage KPMG T&I's asset library - a structured, searchable repository of reusable delivery assets including solution templates, architecture blueprints, proposal content, methodology playbooks, and client-facing tools.

    Program / Delivery Director (Large Deals) - Africa

    Position Summary

    The Program / Delivery Director is an Associate director-level role accountable for the hands-on leadership and commercial management of KPMG T&I's largest, most complex multi-country delivery engagements. This role exists to prevent margin leakage as deal volumes grow - ensuring that large technology transformation programmes are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and at the quality standard required to sustain client relationships and KPMG's reputation. The Program Director is the primary owner of delivery outcomes on engagements valued at USD 5M+, working in close partnership with the Domain Lead, Architecture Leads, and PMO team to maintain programme health.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    Programme Leadership and Delivery Ownership (60%)

    • Lead major T&I delivery engagements as the most senior KPMG delivery authority on the programme - accountable for outcomes, commercial performance, and client satisfaction.
    • Manage multi-disciplinary delivery teams including KPMG consultants, alliance partner resources (Microsoft, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle), and specialist subcontractors.
    • Own the programme plan, delivery schedule, resourcing model, and budget - maintaining real-time visibility on cost, schedule, and scope against contract.
    • Enforce RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) discipline on all programmes - maintaining a live RAID log and escalating unresolved risks within defined thresholds.

    • Minimum 12 years of experience in technology programme delivery, with at least 5 years managing programmes of USD 5M+ in a consulting or systems integration context.
    • Demonstrated track record of delivering large-scale technology transformation programmes (ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, digital) across multiple African markets.
    • Experience managing alliance partner delivery teams (Microsoft, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle) in a formal programme structure.
    • Strong financial management capability with demonstrated experience tracking and managing programme P&L.
