• To own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Temenos T24 / Transact core banking platform — its
• architecture, customisation and continuous optimisation — aligning the core banking
• infrastructure with the strategic growth goals of the Digital and Wholesale Banking divisions while
• ensuring high availability, robust security and seamless product delivery.
• This is a dual-capability senior role combining strategic leadership with deep technical core banking expertise.
• Without it, the organisation would lack a single accountable owner who can both govern the T24/Transact technical architecture and translate complex digital and wholesale banking products into reliable, secure, production-grade delivery.

Responsibilities 

Project Leadership & Solution Architecture: 

• Lead Deployments: Direct the technical execution of T24 implementations, system upgrades and module rollouts from initiation through to post-go-live.
• System Design: Define and govern the technical architecture for digital and wholesale banking solutions, ensuring scalability, security and alignment with industry standards.
• Resource Optimisation: Manage and mentor a team of technical developers, business analysts and system administrators.

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management: 

• Requirement Gathering: Partner with Digital and Wholesale Banking business units to translate complex financial products into clear technical specifications.
• Executive Liaison: Act as the primary technical advisor to senior management, explaining architectural risks, project timelines and platform capabilities in non-technical terms.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate directly with Temenos consultants and third-party vendors to resolve critical software bugs and product limitations.

System Customisation & Engineering:

• Core Customisation: Oversee code development, local developments (Versions, Enquiries,
• Templates) and API integrations and the Temenos Integration Framework (IF).
• Module Configuration: Fine-tune and optimise core modules supporting corporate lending, trade finance, treasury and digital channels.
• Integration Governance: Ensure secure, real-time connectivity between the T24 core and peripheral systems (payment gateways, CRM and mobile banking apps).

Quality Assurance & Performance Tuning:

• Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis for complex system errors, performance bottlenecks and database locks.
• Testing Frameworks: Design, enforce and validate comprehensive Unit, System Integration (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) protocols.
• Disaster Recovery: Maintain and test high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures to guarantee business continuity.

Innovation & Knowledge Management:

• Roadmap Evaluation: Monitor the Temenos product roadmap and emerging fintech trends to proactively recommend upgrades and competitive digital capabilities.
• Training Programmes: Create technical documentation and user guides, and conduct structured training sessions for end-users to maximise system adoption.

Requirements

Education:

General Experience:

• Minimum of 8–10 years' experience in core banking systems, with at least 5 years specifically dedicated to leading Temenos T24 / Transact implementations or consulting.

Managerial Experience:

• Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams (developers, business analysts and system administrators) across the full implementation lifecycle.

KPI Framework:

Platform Availability & Stability:

• System uptime / availability; severity-1 incident rate; mean time to resolution; database-lock and bottleneck recurrence.

• To deliver hands-on technical engineering of the Temenos T24 / Transact core banking platform — building, customizing, integrating and tuning the system so that digital and wholesale banking products are delivered to specification, on time and to production-grade quality.
• This is a senior individual contributor technical role reporting to the Head, Digital & Wholesale Banking.
• Where the Head owns architecture, governance and stakeholder strategy, the Senior Technical Consultant is the senior pair of hands that turns those designs into working, tested, secure code and configuration.
• Without this role, technical designs and product requirements would not be reliably engineered into the platform.

Responsibilities 

Technical Delivery & Customization:

• Local Development: Build and maintain local developments — Versions, Enquiries, Templates, routines and APIs — using InfoBasic, jBASE and the Temenos Integration Framework (IF), in line with the architecture set by the Head.
• Implementation Support: Execute the technical build for T24 implementations, upgrades and module rollouts from development through to post-go-live support.
• Standards Adherence: Apply coding, version-control and local-development standards so that work is consistent, reviewable and maintainable.

Module Configuration & Integration:

• Module Configuration: Configure and fine-tune core modules supporting corporate lending, trade finance, treasury and digital channels (LD, FT, MD, LC, TR, AC).
• Integration Engineering: Engineer secure, real-time interfaces between the T24 core and peripheral systems (payment gateways, CRM and mobile/digital banking apps) using IF and IRIS / APIs.

Quality Assurance & Performance Tuning: 

• Testing: Develop and execute Unit, System Integration (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cases for customizations and integrations and remediate defects.
• Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis on system errors, performance bottlenecks and database locks, and implement durable fixes.
• Performance Tuning: Profile and tune jBASE / TAFJ / TAFC performance to meet availability and response-time targets.

Environment & Release Support: 

• Environment Management: Support multi-environment landscapes (Dev, Test, UAT, Production), including code promotion, data migration and environment integrity.
• Release & Recovery: Support deployment, release and disaster-recovery activities, contributing to high-availability and business-continuity assurance.
