Role Summary
Husk is seeking a Service Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring optimal and safe operation of the generation, transmission and distribution equipment (including within customer premises) with an understanding of electrical engineering, ensuring safety and environmental inspections and preventive maintenance within Husk Power Plants.
This position provides the opportunity to join a growing team that is changing the face of rural electrification in Nigeria and India.
Key responsibilities:
General
- Daily Monitoring of HMGs at Meters and System Portal.
- The Service engineer must ensure maximum power quality, power availability and power reliability of the plant and ensure efficient functioning of all connections at the customer premises
- The Service engineer will take all preventative and corrective maintenance on the plant whilst making sure all HSE procedures are followed.
- Initiate tickets to OEMs and follow up for early rectification.
- Maintain event log at HMG plants.
- Health Check-up and Maintenance of Plants.
- Train site electricians on the operation and maintenance of the system.
- Working closely with the customer teams to provide high quality service to the customers
- Ensure New Customer Connections on time as per SOP.
- Monitor and control the Diesel consumption of Generators.
- Spares planning & avoid shortage of spares & consumables.
- Diesel Engine Overhauling, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of Mechanical & and electrical problems.
- Pursuing opportunities to develop skills and capacity is encouraged
Plant Operations
- Play a key role as a member of the Mini-Grids Operations and Maintenance team to plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the plants to ensure smooth progress.
- Understand and manage sites’ performance to key performance metrics.
Asset Management
- Ensures completion of technical documents; grid outages, onsite equipment problems, log entries, site visitation; and safety and environmental inspections.
- Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly equipment healthiness checklist; Preventive maintenance planning; Shutdown planning; Daily reading logbook, etc.

Required Skills & Attributes
- You have a technical background with an understanding of electrical engineering (minimum education requirement: Diploma in Engineering)
- You have 5+ years of experience (Infrastructure and Solar/Telecom industries preferred)
- You have 2+ years of experience managing a team of 5+ people.
- You have a learning mindset and are keen to deliver hands-on solutions in the field.
- You are a problem solver and can identify issues and possible solutions swiftly.
- You can also ideally execute based on direct instruction and under guidance from other members of the team.
- You have no issues working in (and living around) rural Nigeria and in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.

Role Summary
Husk is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Customer Relationship Officer, to join the growing team in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all customer complaints and inquiries, providing communication to customers on services, improving customer relationships and retention. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, complaints management, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions. You need to be a team player and have a problem-solving attitude.
Key Responsibilities
General
- Manage all customer complaints and inquiries.
- Carry out survey calls on NPS, VOC, and CSAT to aid organizational decision-making.
- Ability to use CRM tools to track customer journeys.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients through regular communication.
- Collaborate with technical and sales teams to address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide value-added support.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports on surveys and other customer engagement activities.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and initiatives to improve customer retention.
- Continuously strive to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and professional skills through training and self-development activities.

Location and Travel
- This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria
- Would be required to work from minigrid locations often; and not May be required to travel often to visit sites.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of a BSC/HND in Arts, Social Sciences, and another related field preferred.
- Proven track record of success in customer service or contact center operations
- High proficiency in Hausa and English Language
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
