Job Description

We are looking to hire a Head Waiter / Waitress. A head waiter’s / waitress’s responsibility will be to act as a supervisor to the waiters and waitresses on duty. The ideal waiter uplifts the overall dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who can take charge of difficult situations with a high level of professionalism and diplomacy.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise every minute of operations of the waiters and waitresses
• Ensure guests are satisfied to the fullest
• Greet and escort customers to their tables in the absence of the host
• Handle guests’ orders and inquiries in the absence of the waiter
• Ensure tables are properly set up at the appropriate time
• Offer menu recommendations upon request
• Up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
• Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
• Handle reports on kitchenware cleanliness dishes and kitchenware
• Discuss with waiters, waitresses, and hostess on daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties)
• Follow all relevant health department regulations
• Provide excellent customer service to guests
• Handle disputes with guests and waiters
• Be an available substitute to a waiter

Requirements:

• Applicant must reside in Lagos Island or its environs
• Proven work experience as a Waiter
• Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information systems (e.g.  POS)
• Attentiveness and patience with managing customers
• Keen attention to details
• Excellent customer service skills
• Diplomacy in dispute resolution
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
• Active listening and effective communication skills
• Team spirit

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Salary Range: N50,000 – N55,000

Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a Hostess. As the name implies, a hostess has the sole responsibility of making customers feel welcome at a restaurant/cafe. You will be the first point of contact for every customer that comes into the restaurant/cafe, hence your responsibilities include greeting guests, responding to inquiries, providing accurate wait times and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming guests to the venue
• Providing accurate wait times and monitoring waiting lists
• Receiving and managing reservations
• Greet customers upon their departure
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
• Maintain a clean reception area
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
• Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
• Assist wait staff as needed
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions
• Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service
• Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them
• Act in the capacity of a floor supervisor as needed

Requirements:

• Experience working as a hostess
• Must be a Female
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Great organisational skills
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
• Neat and clean in appearance
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations
• Experience in managing reservations
• Must live in and around Lagos Island environs

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos.

Salary Range: N60,000 – N70,000
