    Operations Manager

    Job Description

    • The Operations Manager will oversee the operations of the production lines within our FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) company in Johnvents Foods. This role involves managing the day-to-day activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across all production sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in FMCG operations, a strong background in production management, and excellent leadership skills.

    Operational Management:

    • Oversee the operations of multiple production lines, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively.
    • Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and policies to optimize production and reduce costs.
    • Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards across all production lines.

    Production Planning and Control:

    • Collaborate with production managers to develop production plans and schedules.
    • Monitor production activities to ensure timely completion of production targets.
    • Address any issues that may cause delays in production and implement corrective actions.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet established standards.
    • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and implement improvement plans.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

    Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process improvements.

    Resource Management:

    • Manage and allocate resources effectively across different production lines.
    • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of equipment and machinery.
    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and supplies.

    Team Leadership:

    • Provide leadership and direction to production managers and their teams.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training and development programs.

    Health, Safety, and Environment:

    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Promote a culture of safety and implement safety programs and initiatives.
    • ​Investigate and report on any incidents or accidents and implement preventive measures.

    Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including production output, efficiency, quality, and costs.
    • Analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Present findings and recommendations to senior management

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management within the FMCG industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Proven experience in managing production lines and large teams.
    • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems.
    • Proficiency in using ERP systems and other relevant software.

    Requirements

    • Education: A bachelor's degree or its equivalent in numerate or semi-numerate disciplines.
    • Relationship Management: Strong relationship management skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining clients relationships.
    • Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of finance, economics, and current developments in the financial industry.
    • Company Understanding: Good understanding of the company's business, values, and mission.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with clients effectively and colleagues.
    • Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision within a hybrid working structure.
    • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence effectively and manage C-suite executives, leaders, high-net-worth individuals, and other key stakeholders.
