    Principal

    Position Overview: 

    The Head of School / Principal is a senior leadership

    position responsible for the overall management and administration of the college, a co-educational secondary school in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The Head of School will provide strategic leadership, foster an environment of

    academic excellence, oversee staff development, ensure effective communication and marketing, and manage the overall well-being of students and staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership and Vision:
      • Develop and communicate a clear vision and mission for the school's educational and cultural development.
      • Provide strategic direction and inspire a culture of continuous improvement among staff, students, and stakeholders.
      • Foster a positive and collaborative school climate that promotes innovation and student success.
    2. Academic Excellence:
      • Oversee the development and implementation of a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum aligned with national and international standards.
      • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning to ensure academic excellence and student achievement.
      • Implement effective assessment and evaluation practices to measure student progress.
    3. Pastoral Care:
      • Create a supportive and inclusive school environment that promotes the social, emotional, and mental well-being of students.
      • Implement effective pastoral care programs to address student needs and concerns.
      • Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment.
    4. Staff Professional Development:
      • Provide leadership and support for the professional growth and development of teaching and non-teaching staff.
      • Coordinate and facilitate professional development workshops, seminars, and training opportunities.
      • Encourage innovation and best practices in teaching and school management.
    5. Communication and Marketing:
      • Develop and execute strategies to effectively communicate with parents, students, staff, and the broader community.
      • Oversee marketing initiatives to promote the school's strengths, achievements, and programs.
      • Maintain a strong online and offline presence to engage stakeholders and attract prospective students.
    6. General Administration:
      • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
      • Ensure compliance with relevant educational regulations, policies, and standards.
      • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records related to students, staff, and school activities.
    7. Community Engagement:
      • Build and nurture positive relationships with parents, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
      • Collaborate with external organizations and partners to enhance educational opportunities for students.

    Qualifications And Experience:

    • A Master's degree in Education or a related field
    • Proven experience in educational leadership, preferably as a Principal or Head of School. Proven record as deputy head of school also acceptable
    • Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogical approaches, and educational best practices.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of educators and support staff.
    • Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into teaching and learning.
    • Familiarity with relevant educational regulations and standards.

As the CEO, you will be responsible for leading our organization through a period of transformation and expansion, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the industry while staying true to our mission of empowering underserved communities through access to financial services.

    • Tech Savvy & Adaptability: Understands the concept of digital banking and possess the ability to navigate the evolving landscape of financial technology.

    • Strategic Thinking & Leadership: Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the organization, aligning with our mission and values. Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives to drive growth, expand our reach, and maximize impact.
    • Innovation, Visionary & Technology: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in microfinance and financial services. Champion innovation within the organization, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and customer experience.
    • Strong Financial Acumen: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Ensure sound financial management practices and effective risk management strategies to safeguard the organization's assets and maintain financial sustainability.
    • Partnership Development: Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders, including financial institutions, government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. Collaborate with partners to explore new opportunities, leverage resources, and enhance our impact.
    • Team Building and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team dedicated to our mission. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to staff members.
    • Social Impact and Responsible Practices: Ensure that our operations are aligned with principles of social responsibility and ethical practices.     • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the microfinance industry. Ensure that our operations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field. Master’s Degree would be an added advantage.
    • ICAN, CIBN, CMP, MCP and any other Professional certification would be an added advantage.
    • Experience in the commercial bank with the position of Manager/General Manager would be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in similar role.
    • Proven track record of executive leadership in the microfinance or financial services industry, with experience driving organizational growth and transformation.
    • Strong strategic planning and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to anticipate and respond effectively to market dynamics and competitive pressures.
    • Deep understanding of microfinance principles, products, and practices, as well as familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, build relationships with stakeholders, and represent the organization effectively.
    • Demonstrated commitment to financial inclusion with strong knowledge of digital banking.
