    General Manager HMO (Abuja)

    About

    Our client is a leading Health Maintenance Organization with headquarters in Abuja, FCT. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful GM will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the HMO. He/she will have overall leadership and management of HMO services, support the objectives and goals of the HMO, as well as manage and report on the performance of various functional units within the organization.

    Requirements

    • Manage the daily activities of the HMO ensuring that operations, systems and processes are properly coordinated and implemented
    • Ensure that service users and their providers are central to all agendas and that services are effectively provided to meet service users\\\' needs
    • Design and implement appropriate operational structure and processes to create and deliver the HMO\\\'s services
    • Initiate and oversee operational plans and initiatives to create cross-functional capabilities required across key areas including provider network, business operations, and sales and marketing
    • Liaise with clients, providers, suppliers and regulatory authorities, and ensure that the HMO\\\'s operational procedures, policies, and standards are adhered to at all times
    • Formulation and implementation of major functional policies and plans that can make a considerable impact on the longer term performance of the organization
    • Formulation and implementation of risk management policy, procedures and guidelines with a view to safeguarding company’s assets and resources
    • Judgment and initiative in dealing with problems especially where there are no guidelines and precedents;
    • Finding solutions to problems which lack dear definition and may necessitate strategic thinking;
    • Development of new concepts and approaches or entrepreneurial actions
    • Meeting contacts at highest level with e particular emphasis on external relations arid which require very considerable communication, advocacy and persuading skills

    Qualifications and experience

    • A good first degree or its equivalent from a reputable University in Medicine, Sciences, or numerate disciplines such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Insurance, etc.
    • Post graduate qualification in Management, Public Health, Health Management, Health Economics, Insurance or other related fields
    • Certification in and/or professional membership of Health, Management and Health Insurance related bodies shall be an added advantage
    • In-depth understanding of health insurance products, pricing, and underwriting processes with at least 10 years’ experience
    • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget
    • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting
    • Strong commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance
    • Basic knowledge of risk assessment and risk management
    • Ability to carry out cost/benefit analysis of high tech medical systems, processes and procedures;
    • Good knowledge and understanding of the NHIS guidelines and operations of HMOs and HCPs;

    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    REF: FAME-24 

    As the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer in a nonprofit organization that implements women\'s socio-economic empowerment and development programs, your responsibilities will include program implementation, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to help the organization assess the effectiveness of its programs. S/he will also provide technical support to the team in program implementation, communication activities, strategy development and implementation and report writing, among other tasks.

    Reporting Line:

    • Reports to the Program Manager

    Job Responsibilities

    • The M&E Officer will provide support and guidance in the collection and analysis of data to measure performance against established indicators.
    • Monitoring all project activities, expenditures, and progress toward achieving outputs.
    • Developing and strengthening evaluation procedures to assess impact and effectiveness.
    • Coordination and implementation of the organization’s program activities (training, meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars and as may be assigned) and other events according to organizations requirements and program workplans.
    • Preparing regular reports to provide insights into project status and recommend improvements.
    • This role also includes ensuring accountability and optimizing capacity development outcomes.
    • S/he will work as part of the organization’s program team and assist in developing program strategy, designing program activities, developing proposals and reports, supporting the team’s efforts, negotiating and tracking activity financial expenditure.
    • Perform tasks and functions according to the directions provided by the Program Manager/Country Manager.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
    • Monitor all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the program outputs
    • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of expected results;
    • Monitor the sustainability of the project’s results;
    • Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system
    • Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the project;
    • Recommend further improvement of the logical framework;
    • Develop monitoring and impact indicators for the program\'s successes;
    • Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to the Program Management Team (PMT)
    • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Program Manager in preparing relevant reports;
    • Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the program;
    • Provide feedback to the Program Manager on project strategies and activities;
    • Suggest strategies to the Program Management Team for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the program by identifying bottlenecks in completing program activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
    • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all activities.
    • Measurable Outputs and Performance Indicators
    • Work with other program personnel to monitor and evaluate the performance of the organization, vendors, engaged consultants and partners (where applicable), on program activities, identifying successes and failures and recommending program adjustments accordingly.
    • Assist with all aspects of team projects and objectives and lead the development of work products in collaboration with Team members.
    • Mobilize program participants, the media and stakeholders for events and program
    • Update and maintain program files and program participants’ contacts for monitoring and evaluation, activities and internal reporting.
    • Monitor current events and developments in Africa to provide socio-economic development and programmatic analysis and recommendations.
    • Travel independently and/or as part of a team, to various locations to support the organization’s programmatic objectives.
    • Perform other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Country Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field, data analysis, economics, social development, international relations, or a related field
    • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar position in nonprofit (NGO) work, and international development, preferably working directly with entrepreneurs, women and/or youth and other sector stakeholders.
    • Experience working on donor-funded economic empowerment programs, education and capacity-building programs;
    • Experience in project cycle management, coordinating project activities with participants, project accounting, and monitoring and evaluation; vendor engagement, data collation, analysis and interpretation for informed programming and decision-making.
    • Working knowledge of the nonprofit strategy and logical framework, Women\'s Economic Empowerment (WEE) and socioeconomics.
    • Experience writing reports and project proposals.
    • Ability to prioritize, plan and organize work to tight timeframes, handle multiple tasks, and be flexible with changing priorities.
    • Experience promoting sustainable participation of women and youths in economic development.

    • The ability to analyze social systems and data, and to understand the stories behind the data.
    • Proficiency in using industry technology tools to analyze, visualize data and report.
    • Ability to explain data insights through clear reporting and provide feedback for impact optimization.
    • Ability to effectively present data and reports to inform programming and stakeholder engagement.
    • Experience in event organization; detailed-oriented and coordination,
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines: Strong communicator and presenter in English, both verbally and in writing, and
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and lead the efforts of other professionals to effectively meet organizational and program deliverables.
