    Medical Laboratory Scientist

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Employees in this job complete or oversee a variety of tests, analyses, or production and research activities involving chemical, biochemical and biological samples, specimens, and products. 

    JOB DUTIES

    • Tests and analyses a variety of samples, specimens, products, or materials for chemical composition or presence of specific substances; follows standardized analytical procedures.
    • Employs analytical instrument techniques such as spectroscopy, spectrophotometry, and chromatography to characterize materials and identify samples and specimens; develops new instrument methods.
    • Carries out qualitative and quantitative analyses.
    • Conducts chemical, biological, and physical tests on materials to determine that standards are met.
    • Devises and adapts technical procedures and modifies equipment, as needed. Keeps informed of new analytical or manufacturing methods.
    • Receive urine, collect blood or other samples for experimentation and analysis.
    • Prepare standard volumetric solutions or reagents to be combined with specimens
    • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
    • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
    • Designing and executing laboratory testing according standard procedures
    • Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
    • Record all data and results in specified forms paper and electronic with accuracy and responsibility. Manage and operate laboratory equipment.
    • Test and study blood, urine and other body fluids.
    • Evaluate test results and prepare reports.
    • Maintain laboratory quality assurance and safety standards

    Requirements / Qualifications

    • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
    • Required: registered with the Medical Laboratory Science council of Nigeria
    • Time management and organizational skills
    • Record keeping skills
    • Ability to keep information confidential
    • Good listening and communication skills
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Patience, adaptability, dependability
    • In Depth Knowledge of Molecular testing
    • Knowledge of the use and operation of laboratory equipment such as microscopes etc.
    • In depth knowledge of QHSE Systems, preventative measures and laboratory best practices
    • Working knowledge of MS Office especially Excel and database systems
    • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
    • Performs routine maintenance on laboratory equipment, and inventories and orders required supplies.
    • Assists in the training of new laboratory personnel.
    • Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work.
    • Performs related work as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor degree in Medical laboratory sciences

    Job Description

    • We are seeking to recruit and train a Human Resources person to lead and oversee all HR functions within our establishment 
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping and maintaining a culture that aligns with our company\'s values while driving strategic HR initiatives , goal setting for staff within the organization and ensuring that projects and duties are carried out

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee recruitment and general human resources functions
    • Monitor projects development stages and provide all administrative support for smooth project execution
    • Perform official correspondence as directed by the Managing Director
    • Provide strategic advice to the Managing Director on all organizational administrative activities
    • Planning and coordinating logistics and procurement functions in liaison with Procurement and Project teams for smooth day to day operations

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
    • Any related working experience or HR certifications such as ACIPM or ACIPD would be an added advantage.
    • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices is desirable.
    • Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills is a plus.
