    Senior Officer, Human Asset Management & Administration (Apapa)

    Description

    Are you an experienced professional in human asset management and administration looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and engaging work environment? Look no further! Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a Senior Officer to join our team in Apapa.

    In this role, you will be responsible for managing administrative activities involving the lease of offices and living accommodation, purchase of office equipment, purchase of office supplies, housekeeping, security, employee safety, and more. You will also be involved in planning and preparing monthly reports regarding funding required for the maintenance of infrastructure and office facilities.

    As the Senior Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our administrative systems and procedures. You will be responsible for streamlining processes, ensuring a smooth flow of information within the terminal, managing document management in accordance with legal provisions and company quality standards, monitoring inventory of office supplies and purchase of new equipment, overseeing the process of acquiring new service providers, and more.

    Additionally, you will be involved in monitoring costs and expenses, ensuring operations adhere to policies and regulations, organizing the administrative fleet and managing repairs, inspecting building structures for repairs or renovations, arranging employee relocations, examining utility consumption to minimize costs, supervising facility staff and external contractors, controlling activities such as parking allocation and waste disposal, and performing analysis and forecasts to contribute to the overall performance of the service.

    As part of the human asset management aspect of the role, you will be responsible for managing the staff process, including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring. You will ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with regulations, investigate employee issues and conflicts, ensure consistent application of company HR policies, maintain HR systems and processes, and more.

    Our ideal candidate will have a B.Sc./HND in Human Resources Management, Business Admin/Sociology/Industrial Psychology, a minimum of 9 years of cognate experience (or an MBA with 6 years of experience), and a professional qualification in HR Management, such as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). You should have a basic understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, and legislations in the manufacturing industry and a good understanding of employee/industrial relations and labor and employment legislations in Nigeria.

    In addition to your educational and professional qualifications, we are looking for someone with a strong background in admin facilities management, the ability to effectively utilize computer systems and performance management applications, knowledge of HR operational activities and timelines, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, good communication skills, and proficiency in using MS Office applications.

    Manager, Route to Market

    Description

    We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Route to Market to join our team. As the Manager, Route to Market, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize trade channels and retail outlets.

    You will work closely with the sales team to ensure effective coverage of outlets, merchandising, and increasing the number of Dangote Cement handlers in the market.

    This role requires a strong understanding of trade marketing and channel management, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Commercial planning & activation:

    • Identify and understand key growth drivers of sales within coverage - Regional Profiling to be developed reported and updated quarterly.
    • Develop and implement periodic field accompaniment plan with field sales team to generate trade insight, Customer priorities and opportunities for growth.
    • Work with Regional Sales and Distribution teams to implement Win At Retail (WAR) strategy.

    Market Development:

    • This part of trade marketing focuses on strategic positioning of our brand – ensuring superior positioning vs competition.
    • Ensure 100% visibility at the point of purchase for key customers in line with plan.
    • Runs customers and specific market development projects.

    Tactical Initiatives:

    • Responsible for Regional Tactical planning and trade execution to secure volume and mark share in line with overall regional objective

    Measurement and Evaluation

    • Drive quarterly M&E session for all trade initiatives for the coverage region.

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 15 - 20 years of relevant work experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Management Sciences, Marketing & Business Management.
    • Membership of Professional Marketing bodies will be an added advantage.
    • Experience working with productivity suits such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Projects, and Visio.

    • An Assistant Manager for Cement Kilns, Coal Mills, and Alternative Fuel Operations holds a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of these facilities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
    • Assist in coordinating activities related to kilns / coal mills, alternative fuels operations.
    • Troubleshoot equipment failure to ensure production targets are achieved.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of cement kilns, coal mills, and alternative fuel systems to ensure they run efficiently and meet production targets. This involves monitoring equipment performance, process parameters, and product quality.
    • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and environmental regulations. This involves conducting regular safety drills, maintaining safety equipment, and ensuring that emissions meet local and national standards.
    • Maintenance Coordination: Work with the maintenance team to schedule regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of kiln, mill, and fuel system equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to optimize operations, including enhancing fuel efficiency, reducing waste, and improving product quality. This may involve trialing new alternative fuels, adjusting process parameters, or implementing new technologies.
    • Team Management and Development: Lead and manage a team of operators and technicians, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and ensure a high level of competency and performance.
    • Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and control operational costs, including fuel, maintenance, and labor costs, to ensure the operation remains within financial targets.
    • Environmental Sustainability: Promote and implement sustainable practices, including the use of alternative fuels and materials, to reduce the environmental impact of cement production. This might include sourcing and utilizing waste-derived fuels or by-products from other industries.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with other departments, senior management, external suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Ensuring good relations and compliance with all necessary standards and requirements.
    • Problem-solving and Emergency Response: Act quickly to resolve operational, technical, or personnel issues and implement contingency plans in case of emergencies, such as equipment failure or safety incidents.
    • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, improvements, safety incidents, and compliance with environmental standards to senior management and regulatory agencies as required.
