    Event Manager

    Position Summary

    • We are looking for an Event Manager who will plan and organise events for Pulse that will resonate with our audience and strategically highlight our clients and their brands.
    • You will be responsible for building events as a key revenue driver for Pulse.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic direction for all Pulse events and ensure effective integrated marketing strategies for events that target our audience
    • Successfully plan, manage and execute events end-to-end for Pulse
    • Build the event function to create revenue-generating opportunities for Pulse - both B2B and D2C
    • Produce detailed proposals for events - timelines, venues, vendors, legal obligations, staffing and budgets
    • Create work schedules for events, delegating and assigning roles as required for successful execution
    • Represent the company in conversations with key stakeholders & partners
    • Develop relationships to identify new monetizable event opportunities for the Pulse Brand
    • Manage all event planning, coordinate logistics and vendors, be hands-on on the day of the event to troubleshoot and ensure seamless, timely and cost-effective execution
    • Create, maintain, and improve systems and processes for organizing events and the events function at Pulse
    • Analyse and report on the performance and ROI of events and adapt future plans accordingly for optimal results
    • Collaborate extensively with Sales to pitch event ideas to brands as part of their marketing mix
    • Act as a key partner for Sales teams by using the event function as a strategic tool for lead generation and to build relationships with key clients
    • Support the Content team in content creation from events
    • Ensure synergies with other Pulse products and teams are maximized and also closely collaborate with the international teams
    • Ensure Pulse is a media partner or has a presence at key events in Nigeria and the diaspora
    • Contribute to team learning sessions and facilitate knowledge sharing on an ongoing basis
    • Build relationships and strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the events space and across relevant industries
    • Stay up to date on the latest trends and be aware of competitive activity in the market to ensure that the Pulse events offering is always innovative and impactful.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Experience with event marketing
    • Passion for producing original, relatable events for a young Nigerian and Diaspora audience
    • Strong business acumen to drive partnerships and revenue generation for Pulse events as a product

    Video Editor & Cinematographer (Sports)

    Position Summary

    • Pulse is looking to hire a Video Editor & Cinematographer who would create branded video content for our clients' video projects, especially sports content - this includes commercials, documentaries, special features, etc.
    • This position will be based in our Lagos office, reporting to the Project Lead (Pulse Sports)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Create high-quality video content for client video projects, especially sports content
    • Videography in-house and on the field as assigned
    • Work to a brief, develop and pitch creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet objectives
    • Overall editing responsibilities and quality control of all edits - including choice of images and videos, soundtrack, text placement, proofreading and cross-checking facts, spelling, grammar, writing style, colour, etc.
    • Secure appropriate rights, licenses and clearances for video, image, and soundtrack usage to avoid copyright infringement
    • Contribute to new video format development and implementation
    • All around assistance on post-production activities
    • You may be required to manage more than one brief at a time and will therefore have to prioritise effectively, allocating the relevant amount of time and resources according to the value of the job - ensuring that deadlines are met on all video projects
    • Ensure proper organisation and safekeeping of video footage and logs
    • Event coverage as required
    • You will keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly video and design programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, and other relevant programs from the Adobe Creative Suite

    Job Requirements

    Scriptwriter Intern

    The Role

    • Pulse is looking for a Scriptwriter Intern, who would be able to script for digital content in all styles in social, entertainment, news, documentaries, short, mid and long forms while meeting internal and mandatory standards.
    • This position will be based in our Lagos office, reporting to the Producer.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Storytelling and scripting for all creative projects.
    • You will be required to script for digital content in all styles, forms and lengths - social, entertainment, news, documentaries, short, mid and long-form.
    • Ensure all published content meets internal quality standards - story authenticity, fact-checking, spelling, grammar, style, consistency with the Pulse brand voice, adherence to Pulse editorial guidelines, full respect for copyright laws, etc.
    • Assist as needed with the post-production of social media videos using Wochit, other short video formats, original video formats (including client projects), and assist also with the creation of new templates and formats using Wochit.
    • Any other duties assigned.

    Creative Strategist

    Position Summary

    • We are looking for a Creative Digital Strategist to join the team.

    • We are looking for an experienced Motion Graphics Video Editor to join our production team.
    • Reporting to the Director of Commercial Video, the Motion Graphics Video Editor will be responsible for producing and editing high quality motion graphics to be used in client videos, websites, social media and a vast array of other media.

    Skills that would make a candidate successful in this role:

    • Experience producing motion graphics in a professional, post-production environment is preferred
    • Strong Adobe Premiere and After Effects skills and a good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as it applies video post-production
    • Strong project management, time management and problem-solving skills
    • Great communication skills to keep the team up to date on project timelines
    • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team - you will work with a team of other video editors, producers, scriptwriters, graphic designers, account managers, web developers, etc
    • Highly organised, goal-oriented, and can drive results while multi-tasking priorities.
