    Head, Membership and Branch Development

    Job Summary

    • Support all aspects of membership development in the Zone, including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and reactivation of dormant members
    • Execute strategies and initiatives to grow the relevance and impact of the organisation in the Zone

    Job Responsibilities

    • Execute the approved membership development plan that aligns with the strategic objectives of the Institute.
    • Develop, plan and execute strategies and initiatives to grow the membership base of the organisation in the Zone.
    • Support the Director, Membership & Branch Development/Assistant Director, Northern Zone in working with the Zonal Executive Committee and collaborating with other regional offices to organize membership efforts (i.e. developing projects and initiatives to increase membership acquisition and retention) across the Zone
    • Liaise with departments across the organisation (e.g. Research and Advocacy and Training and Capacity Development) to leverage programmes and activities to increase membership acquisition in the Zone
    • Organise existing and prospective members’ events and facilitate closer cooperation and networking between members
    • Monitor the department’s annual budget
    • Meet revenue projections of all Events and Publications in terms of sponsorship and Advertisements
    • Establish and maintain a register of members in line with the provision of relevant sections of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the organisation
    • Implement strategies to ensure high level subscription payment by members. Work closely with the Finance team to coordinate the annual membership invoicing payment system.
    • Prepares periodic membership reports for the Director, Membership & Branch Development/Assistant Director, Membership and Branch Development, Northern Zone. Evaluate reports against strategic goals and targets.
    • Identify key performance indicators, and ensure that service levels clearly specified with reference to members satisfaction and are in conformity to international standards.
    • Facilitate meetings and relationships with external parties. Identifies and converts new and partnerships and alliances.
    • Serves as Secretary to at least one (1) Policy Committee of the organisation
    • Coordinate the overall execution of the activities of the Zone.
    • Perform any other task as assigned by the Director General and the Director, Membership & Branch Development /Assistant Director, Membership and Branch Development

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or any other related field.
    • Post- graduate degree in any related field will be an added advantage.
    • Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. NIM, etc. will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with at least 3 years in leadership position and marketing or any related field
    • Experience in a similar organisation will be an added advantage

    Director, Research and Advocacy

    Job Summary

    • Provide strategic and operational oversight of the organisation’s Research and advocacy programmes, events and publications for the purpose of promoting the mandate of the organisation
    • Manage and supervise the company’s advocacy programmes, communications, public relation activities, and any other related activities that enhance or increase the growth of membership in the organisation.
    • Manage collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in government, and industry and leverage these relationships in executing the organisation’s advocacy strategies. Be the face of organisation as necessary in advocacy initiatives.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop The Organisation’s Research and advocacy strategy and derive implementation plans to achieve them
    • Build and maintain relationships with government, leaders of organizations and decision-makers that will facilitate the advocacy mandate within the Institute
    • Identify and monitor pending legislative initiatives, government policies and practices and advocacy issues falling under the scope of the interest of the organisation
    • Identify and develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in government and industry, and leverage these relationships in executing The Organisation’s advocacy strategies.
    • Oversee the planning and delivery of all advocacy programmes and events
    • Develop a range of approaches for communicating the organisation’s advocacy outcomes to internal and external audiences through written materials: reports, blog posts, website content and other web-based materials; also, through events: trainings, webinars, workshops; and presentations.
    • Oversee the research team to determine research needs and conduct research on relevant topical issues bothering on corporate governance, ethics, leadership and the economy etc. to fuel advocacy programs.
    • Ensure that periodic reports, articles, and concept papers based on research are produced by the research team and oversee their translation into advocacy programmes.
    • Develop concepts and proposals to attract donor funded projects
    • Collaborate with the Corporate Affairs and Programs, and Membership and Branch Development teams on events that support recruitment of new members.
    • Oversee the preparation and release of The Organisation’s corporate communications and publications (e.g., Director Magazine, etc.)
    • Regularly supervises the development of various quality content types such as speeches, articles, concept papers, presentations, proposals etc. for the Institute and its principal officers.
    • Oversee the development and monitoring of the overall department and trouble-shoot issues where necessary
    • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Director General/CEO

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or any other related field.
    • A post- graduate degree in any related field will be an added advantage.
    • Member of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPM, NIM
    • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a director role and 8 years in a managerial position
    • Experience in a similar organisation will be an added advantage
