Our client, Renaissance Estate Architecture and Lifestyle projects (REAL Projects) an architectural firm is looking to hire a Civil Engineer 

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Function of the role

• Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
• Undertake complex calculations
• Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors.
• Resolving design and development problems.
• Compiling job specifications and supervising tendering procedures
• Managing budgets and project resources
• Scheduling materials and equipment purchases and deliveries
• Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety.
• Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• 2-3 years of general construction, creating feasibility studies and resolving design problems.
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good knowledge of construction
• Ability to work within deadlines and budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiating skills
• The ability to manage projects
• Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
• Candidate should reside in Lekki.

Function of the role

• Advising clients on the practicality of their project
• Preparing presentations and presenting design proposals to clients.
• Producing detailed drawings from which costings are made
• Coordinating the work of contractors
• Making site visits to check on progress of projects
• Attending regular meetings with client’s contractors and other specialists.
• Make sure that projects are running within agreed time frame

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
• 1-3 years of Architectural experience
• Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have knowledge of most of the following( Revitt, Autocad, Photoshop, Sketchup, 3d max)
• Have strong visual awareness and an eye for detail
• Have good drawing skills, with the ability to work in three dimensions(3D)
• Be passionate about buildings and the build environment
• Be inventive and imaginative
• Be organized
• Have logical, analytical and creative approach to problem solving
• Time management skills
• Be confident and able to cope with criticism of their work.
• Have excellent computer skills.
• Enjoy art and design.
• Candidate should reside in Lekki.

• Arranging inspections of building work
• Submitting plans to local authorities for approval
• Providing quotes or submitting tenders for building works
• Organizing contractors including carpenters, electricians, plumbers and painters to carry out building tasks
• Coordinating administrative tasks such as payments on site
• Interpreting plans or organizing for plans to be drawn that meet building code regulations and client specifications.
• Calculating quantities and costs and sourcing of building materials and labor

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology
• 1-3 years of Building technology experience
• Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
