    Senior Finance Officer

    Location: Abuja or Kano (Some travel may be required for meetings and other ad hoc activities)
    Department: Business and Administration, EHA Clinics
    Division: EHA Clinics
    Reports to: Business and Admin Manager

    Summary of Job

    • The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for all aspects of financial management of the clinic’s projects and day-to-day activities, ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures as well as parent organization’s regulations.
    • The Senior Finance Officer will also design the yearly budget and plan for the organization, under the supervision of the Business and Admin Manager.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • To perform this role successfully, the Senior Finance Officer will perform the following responsibilities in relation to all clinics which will include but are not limited to:

    Core Tasks

    • Maintains specified clinic financial records; maintains and reconciles account ledgers; maintains and enters monthly journal entries, maintains and reconciles bank accounts. Analyzes accounts to trace discrepancies or errors.
    • Apply basic accounting knowledge and techniques to all areas of work, including routine costing and variance analysis.
    • Assist in clinic's compliance with established policies and regulatory standards, including safety, environmental and legal requirements, and policies and procedures, both internal and external.
    • Management of financial operations in all branches of eHA clinics and affiliated programs, in accordance with the company’s policies; including systems for cash flow management, consolidation of accounting information, internal controls and financial reporting
    • Train and supervise finance staff in the organization.
    • Maintain banking relations, plan and monitor company cash flow requirements to ensure the smooth running of the clinics
    • Prepare monthly standard accounting submissions to the Management, for review by the Finance and Administration Manager, including general ledger files, account reconciliations, expenditures by cost center/project, as well as other financial information in a timely and accurate manner
    • Assist in preparation of annual audit. Provides accurate and reliable information as needed for any other reports or audits as requested.
    • Analyze and report fiscal activity, makes recommendations and takes appropriate action to reduce the cost of providing services.
    • Prepare monthly management reports to the Business and Admin Manager and Senior Management as required, including detailed Profit and Loss Statements, expenditures by cost center and other financial information, in a timely and accurate manner
    • Support Business and Admin Manager in preparation of ad hoc reports for presenting to stakeholders.
    • Assist  Business and Admin Manager in developing annual budgets.
    • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to EHA Clinics and to not jeopardize its reputation.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Training

    • Bachelor degree / B.COM / or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is required
    • Advanced knowledge of Accounting ERP packages
    • Minimum of five years of progressive financial management experience is required
    • Professional qualification in accountancy such as CFP, ANAN, ACCA, ICAN is an added advantage
    • Minimum of three years of experience from a healthcare organization is preferred
    • Demonstrated experience and skills with budget preparation and analysis, financial reporting preparation and presentation and the proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports
    • Strong accounting skills and experience, including the management of general ledger, journal entries, payroll, payables, and balance sheet
    • Advanced computer skills in Google Suite programs, particularly Google Sheet
    • Prior staff supervisory experience and strong organizational skills are desired
    • Excellent oral and written English skills
    • Previous knowledge of Odoo will be an advantage

    Salary

    • Competitive salary scale based on surveys from top private hospitals in Nigeria. Salary is negotiable but performance-based.

    Command Center / Help Desk Shift Supervisor (SS)

    Summary of Job

    • The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily Command Center operations and Command Center Operator’s performance during their particular shift.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • To perform this role successfully, the SS  will perform the following responsibilities,  which will include but are not limited to:

    Core Tasks

    • Manages command center operators  and performs management duties when the Team Lead is absent or out of office
    • Oversee the operation for the assigned shift and report to the lead supervisor
    • Monitor the collection of call record and family member contact information and ensure control and confidentiality of the information by agents
    • Coordinate data entry functions to maintain sensitive personal victim/family Information
    • Provide shift reports to lead supervisors and other stakeholders
    • Alert lead supervisor to any special concerns of members/users
    • Ensure booking of appointments and raising of tickets on Odoo as required
    • Function as a phone operator as needed during the shift and coordinate shift transition (help Desk, front desk, and the command center)
    • Conduct necessary follow-up on incoming call inquiries and ensure tickets are resolved
    • Other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction

    Requirements

    • 2-3 years of work experience in a customer service environment
    • BSc/HND in relevant course from a reputable institution

    Salary

    • Competitive salary scale based on improvements from the CONMESS and CONHESS salary structures as well as surveys from top private hospitals in Nigeria. The salary is negotiable but performance-based. Base salary constitutes 70%, while 30% is a bonus based on predefined individual performance indicators and monthly organizational performance.

    Associate, Project Accountant

    Purpose of the Position

    • The Associate Project Accountant performs daily accounting, finance, and treasury activities as well as additional analysis responsibilities that may include support of the management team in a variety of operational decisions that have a financial impact.
    • S / he engages in financial analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, and reviewing operational performance.

    What You’ll Do
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Enters and maintains the organization’s on-site daily accounting records.
    • Carefully track all fixed and variable expenses. Differentiate between funded and unfunded expenses to ensure proper calculation of eHA’s indirect cost rate.
    • Ensures proposed expenditures are within budget and the appropriate documentation trail is in place. Ensures appropriate approvals are in place prior to spending, If expenditures are out of the approved annual budgets.
    • Maintains a documented system of accounting data and assures documentation is always up to date.
    • Engages in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the organization.
    • Assists in providing reports to Management on expense variances from approved budgets.
    • Provides assistance in the preparation of the project budget in accordance with grants and contracts.
    • Participates in and promotes a positive, supportive, cooperative team environment.
    • Attends and participates in staff meetings, training classes, and supervision.
    • Performs any other duties assigned by Management.

    Who You Are
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required to successfully perform this job:

    • Bachelor's degree from college or university in Finance and Accounting or any other related field.
    • Minimum of three (3) years professional accounting / finance experience preferably with a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A proven track record of achievement in the areas of finance and accounting as well as a master of spreadsheets.
    • Must understand accounts payable, receivables, and be able to work effectively and efficiently in the organization's accounting system.
    • Good knowledge of financial management and accounting and budget holding principles.
    • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently and comfortably coordinating multi-country staff.
    • Must have the ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems effectively.
    • Good learning ability.
