Job Summary:
- As a member of the THRIVE project team, you will monitor, document and report on the project learnings, case studies and innovations.
- Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Job Summary:
- You will manage economic recovery and market systems (ERMS) programming activities under CRS in THRIVE, based in Maiduguri. Together with the Project Officer Youth enterprises and economic strengthening, you will work with participants, and participant groups, stakeholders, and consortium partners in the implementation of ERMS sector activities.

- Organization participants into learning groups for support and ease of poultry rearing information sharing and dissemination.
- Proactively mobilize and engage project participants promote derivation of maximal gain from the project by promoting good poultry rearing practices, limiting premature sales and consumption of production stock.

- Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Assist THRIVE partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences related to stakeholder engagement.

- Support CLO1 in the organization, conduct and follow up of scheduled meetings for THRIVE sector teams with all the Jere program’s area-based committees.
- Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the CRS THRIVE project team, consortium partners, and project beneficiaries at the community level in the seven communities of Jere to assist local partners in strengthening the community interest, involvement, and support networks.
- Liaise with municipality and state level stakeholders in Maiduguri to create understanding and mobilize support for the overall implementation of THRIVE project activities.
- Support the CRS and consortium partner field teams working in Jere for THRIVE to identify entry points with LGA and state level stakeholders. Identify potential issues and areas of concerns amongst stakeholders related to program activities and advise THRIVE senior management on appropriate communication and mitigation strategies consistent with CRS and donor policies and mandates.
- Build capacity among CRS and consortium partner staff in community engagement and effective communication techniques for trust and relationship building.
- In coordination with the project team and CLO 1 support the delivery of capacity building events for community representatives.
- In coordination with CLO1, monitor, and report on activities of volunteers and non-staff agents, including community mobilisers, enumerators, and SILC field agents.
- Compile data provided at the community level as per project requirements and contribute to the preparation of reports.
- Develop and maintain a stakeholder directory for LGA and Borno state stakeholders for THRIVE, including but to key contacts in the state line ministries, traditional leaders and agencies overseeing humanitarian activities in Borno.
Required Languages - English required and proficiency in Hausa, Fulani, Kanuri and/or local languages desirable.
Travel - Must be willing and able to travel up to 60% of the time to field locations throughout the work week.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
- Secondary School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum three to five years relevant field experience working in project support and community engagement. Experience required working with international NGOs in the area of emergency response. Familiarity of e-voucher assistance, Nutrition, Shelter, and WASH programming desirable.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to organize and prioritize a variety of initiatives.

Job Summary:
- You will support the implementation of the agriculture activities at the field level in Jere LGA. You will directly work with project participants, agriculture extension workers, village agents and local stakeholders in ensuring implementation of robust agriculture activities as per THRIVE proposal.
- You will work collaboratively as a team member with the other CRS staffs under the leadership of the Agriculture and Livelihood PM to sequence, and layer all sector interventions to achieve optimal integration and impact for the poor and vulnerable.
- You will support the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, program quality and reporting for agriculture and livelihood activities.
- Your management skills and knowledge will ensure that THRIVE implements high-quality, cost effective and locally appropriate agriculture activities in the target communities of Jere LGA as per proposal and contribute to program improvements and adaptations.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
- Develop agriculture implementation plans and lead in the implementation of agricultural activities in the intervention communities in Jere LGA.
- Work with the agriculture extension workers in building the technical capacity of project participants on crop production, through field level demonstration-based trainings.
- Support organization of participants into learning groups for ease of agricultural information sharing and dissemination.
- Coordinate and implement participants seed and tools needs identification to guide provision of the farming inputs to the participants.
- Work closely with housing lands and property department in ensuring project participants have recognized access to safe farmland.
- Ensure project participants have recognized working arrangements regarding safe utilization of water resource for farming in systems where farming is not dependent on rainfall water.
- Support implementation of agriculture activities as envisioned in the proposal, including working closely
- Ensure robust timely reporting and field level documentation of all agriculture activities.
- Work closely with all other project sector staffs, THRIVE implementing partners and area-based committees in the implementation and monitoring of the agriculture activities.
- Assist the agriculture and livelihood PM in context analysis, optimistic gap identification and proposing of feasible intervention solutions to identified programming gaps.
- Assist the agriculture and livelihood PM in implementation of MEAL systems, including but not limited to identification of project participants, monitoring and evaluation of the sector activities.
- Act as a link between the project staff and the targeted communities in Project Operational areas.
- Assist in farmers training and monitor the practical application of the knowledge, skills and techniques acquired and adapted by farmers
- Report on farmer’s performance and improvement in crops and vegetable husbandry.
- Report weekly and monthly on project progress to the agriculture and livelihoods PM
- Actualize any duties assigned for the overall success of the THRIVE project
Required Languages – English and Hausa are essential. Knowledge of one or more of the languages spoken in Jere, such as Kanuri or Shuwa Arabic is an advantage
Travel – The post is based in Maiduguri, with field level work in Jere LGA. Includes 80% travel to field locations in the Jere area of Maiduguri.

- Experience in working with IDPs in agriculture projects.
- Experience of using market-based mechanisms and CVA modalities, including the RedRose platform, for provision of agriculture inputs to project participants.
