    Fixed Income Analyst

    Role Summary

    • We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Fixed Income Research Analyst to join our investment team. 
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on fixed income securities, global interest rate trends, credit markets, and macroeconomic indicators to support the development of actionable investment strategies. 
    • You will collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and other analysts to provide data-driven insights that enhance portfolio construction and performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on fixed income instruments, including government and corporate bonds, emerging market debt, and structured products.
    • Analyze global interest rate environments, inflation trends, and central bank policies (e.g., Fed, ECB, CBN).
    • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast yields, assess duration risk, and evaluate bond valuations.
    • Monitor credit ratings, economic indicators, and industry developments affecting fixed income portfolios.
    • Prepare periodic market commentary, investment memos, and strategy reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
    • Support portfolio construction decisions by providing data-driven insights on duration, spread, and yield opportunities.
    • Collaborate with traders and investment managers to align research findings with execution strategy.
    • Track and evaluate performance of investment strategies, offering recommendations for improvement.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related analytical field
    • Proven experience in market research, investment analysis, or trading strategy development
    • Strong understanding of global markets, particularly fixed income instruments and macroeconomic trends
    • Ability to build, test, and refine data-driven models and trading ideas
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data tools; experience with statistical software or programming languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) is an advantage
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders
    • Self-driven and capable of working independently in a remote-first environment.
