Workshop Support Staff at Peach Strides and Pristines

Position Overview

The WS Support Staff provides operational, manual, and logistical support to the Workshop and Production units within the JV. The role assists with material movement, machine-area organization, basic handling tasks, and general support functions required to ensure smooth workflow in the workshop environment. This position is essential to maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and timely provision of materials and tools needed by machine operators, fitters, and supervisors.

The position reports to the Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist with movement of materials, tools, consumables, and semi-finished products across workshop stations as directed by supervisors.
• Provide support during machine setup, ensuring operators have required materials, threads, fabrics, or components for continuous production.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness around workshop machines, aisles, storage racks, and workstations.
• Assist in loading and offloading workshop supplies, ensuring safe manual handling practices.
• Support the Workshop team in organizing tools, equipment, and consumables to maintain easy accessibility.
• Segregate, sort, and arrange production waste or scraps according to workshop guidelines.
• Assist in basic labeling, counting, bundling, or packaging of workshop materials where required.
• Provide support during minor maintenance tasks such as holding tools or positioning components under instruction.
• Report damaged materials, safety hazards, or irregularities in the workshop environment immediately to supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with EHS standards including wearing PPE, safe lifting, and adherence to workshop movement rules.
• Support inventory checks by assisting with counting, arranging, and documenting materials as directed.
• Participate in housekeeping routines to maintain a safe and organized workshop space.
• Execute other workshop support tasks assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager to ensure continuous workflow.

Experience & Education

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a workshop, production floor, or industrial support role (preferred).
• Basic understanding of workshop etiquette, material handling, and manual operations.
• Ability to use basic manual tools (non-mechanical).

Relevant Certifications:

Nigerian Primary (Preferred):

• Basic HSE certification
• Basic workshop or technical-vocational safety training

 International (Added Advantage):

• Introductory industrial safety courses
