    Farm Engineer (Fabrication & Maintenance)

    Role Summary

    • The Farm Engineer will be responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of farm tools, machinery, and infrastructure.
    • The role requires a technically skilled individual with hands-on experience in mechanical systems, welding, and equipment troubleshooting to ensure continuous farm operations with minimal downtime.

    Key Responsibilities
    Fabrication & Design:

    • Design and fabricate farm tools, equipment, and structural components as required
    • Modify existing machinery to improve efficiency and functionality
    • Work with locally available materials to develop cost-effective solutions

    Equipment Maintenance & Repairs:

    • Perform routine maintenance on farm equipment (tractors, irrigation systems, processing machines, etc.)
    • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs
    • Ensure all machines are in optimal working condition at all times

    Workshop & Tools Management:

    • Manage workshop activities, tools, and spare parts inventory
    • Ensure proper handling and maintenance of engineering tools and equipment
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment

    Irrigation & Farm Infrastructure Support:

    • Support installation and maintenance of irrigation systems, pumps, and piping
    • Handle basic electrical and plumbing repairs related to farm operations

    Preventive Maintenance Planning:

    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
    • Keep records of repairs, servicing, and equipment performance

    Health, Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety standards
    • Train farm staff on proper use of equipment to prevent damage and accidents

    Key Requirements
    Qualifications:

    • HND / B.Eng. / Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
    • Relevant trade certifications (welding, fabrication, etc.) are an added advantage

    Experience:

    • 3–5 years hands-on experience in:
      • Mechanical engineering or farm machinery maintenance
      • Welding and fabrication
      • Equipment repair and troubleshooting
    • Experience working in a farm, agro-processing, or industrial environment is a strong advantage

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and fabrication techniques
    • Proficiency in welding, cutting, and use of workshop tools
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems and plumbing
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (an added advantage).

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field with 2–3 years’ experience in hospitality sales (serviced apartment or hotel experience preferred)
    • Strong negotiation and closing skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
    • Good knowledge of the Lagos corporate market
    • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
    • Proficiency in MS Office
