    Epidemiology Activity Manager

    Main Purpose 

    • Defining, coordinating and monitoring the epidemiological activities, ensuring the development of appropriate methodology and the quality of studies according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to identify risk factors for diseases and to determine the optimal treatment approaches to clinical practice and the preventive medicine to be used in the missions.

    Job Description

    • Defining, scheduling and organizing, in close collaboration with other medical team members, the annual epidemiological activity plan as well as its associated budget, in order to improve early detection of risk factors to better define treatment approaches and preventive practices.
    • Leading the implementation of the protocols and epidemiological methodology, ensuring all related staff follows them in order to improve research efficiency.
    • Supervising, according to annual plan, the epidemiological research activity ensuring that contacts with community groups and authorities are aligned with the objectives of the research and that the population participating in the research is properly informed.
    • Reporting on the progress of data collection, on ongoing analysis of research or on any issue causing delay, in order to achieve epidemiological goals on time.
    • Advising the MSF medical team on epidemiological matters that arise in the course of their activity research, and when necessary, designing and implementing epidemiological tools and data collection to meet new epidemiological needs.
    • Ensuring, in coordination with logistics department, that national or international shipment of laboratory samples acquired for research purposes is done within datelines and according to protocols, following security rules and keeping conditions needed for the sample.
    • Supervising data filing procedures, ensuring that all epidemiology software tools are properly used and are updated regularly, in order to ensure full data traceability and availability.
    • Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department and the MSF vision, policies and values, the associated processes (job description, recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal/external communication) of the epidemiological staff in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required, to improve staff technical capabilities, contribution and commitment to MSF values.
    • Supervising, in close coordination with the Logistic Manager that research equipment and materials are properly maintained, and stock level is above minimum point in order to ensure availability and research activity continuity.
    • Participating in operational monthly reports and organizing and/or assisting medical staff in preparing epidemiological reports related to health facilities and to researched areas.

    MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
    Conduct National Epidemic Surveillance and Develop Actionable Recommendations:

    • Attend and actively participate in coordination meetings with health authorities, and partners such as NCDC, WHO, MOH, NPHCDA.
    • Analyze and interpret surveillance data to identify trends, outbreaks, and public health concerns relevant to MSF’s mission.
    • Develop action points and recommendations aligned with MSF’s strategic objectives and ensure follow-up on implementation.

    Lead the Design and Implementation of Operational Research and Surveys:

    • Provide technical support in designing and implementing operational research protocols and epidemiological surveys.
    • Ensure data collection, analysis, and interpretation using Kobo, R, and other relevant data tools.
    • Train and mentor relevant project teams on research methodologies, data management, and analysis techniques.
    • Translate research findings into actionable recommendations to improve MSF’s medical interventions and strategies.

    Strengthen EPREP Strategy and use of AMT (Alert Management Tool):

    • Support the revision and implementation of the mission’s Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPREP) strategy.
    • Ensure the utilization of the Alert Management Tool (AMT) at project levels and harmonization at mission level to enhance early warning systems and response.
    • Conduct assessments and develop strategies to improve MSF’s outbreak preparedness and response capacity.

    Enhance Project Surveillance and Epidemic Preparedness Capacity:

    • Enhance collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Disease Surveillance and Notification
    • Officers (DSNOs), LGA Immunization Officers (LIOs), and other key stakeholders at LGA and state levels.
    • Maintain regular communication and coordination with health authorities to improve epidemic response and information sharing.
    • Strengthen early detection and reporting mechanisms at the ward and LGA levels.

    Requirements 
    Education: 

    • Essential, medical or nursing related diploma. Desirable specialization or training in tropical diseases
    • Desirable degree (or masters) in Epidemiology or Public Health with extensive training in statistics and epidemiology
    • Experience in using statistical data analysis tools.

    Experience:

    • Essential working experience of at least two years in nursing activities related jobs
    • Desirable working experience with MSF or other INGOs
    • Desirable working experience in developing countries

    Language

    • Mission working language essential, local language desirable.

    Supply Activity Officer

    Main Purpose 

    • Performing the day-to-day implementation of supply procedures and ensuring efficient administrative processes for one or more areas of the supply programme (Order Processing, Transport and Customs, Procurement, etc.) at coordination or project level according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the optimal running of the mission

    Responsibilities

    • Performing the day-to-day activities ensuring an efficient running of the administration processes of the supply activities following the supply procedures according to MSF standards and protocols. The activities can include one or more of the following areas:
      • Order Processing: Performing the day-to-day order processing activities in a  particular supply office (coordination or project level).
      • Purchasing: Performing the day to day purchasing activities in a particular supply office (coordination or project level)
      •  Transport and Customs: Performing the day-to-day procedures and administrative processes for the clearance and transportation of goods in a particular supply office (coordination or project level) ensuring an efficient shipment of goods.
    • Being responsible for the supply database and the correct filing and archiving of the supply documentation in order to guarantee the availability and the coherence of supply data.
    • Performing and coordinating administrative procedures related to his/her supply  activity(ies), verifying the compliance to MSF procedures, standards and protocols
    • Ensuring that all necessary tools and management procedures are followed to avoid stock ruptures, losses and excess stocks in the mission.
    • Performing delegated tasks according to his / her activity(ies) and as specified in his/her job description.

    Requirements
    Education:

    • Essential secondary education
    • Desirable technical diploma, in supply chain, logistic or commerce related studies

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years' experience in supply chain related jobs or in the logistics department
    • Experience with Logistix7
    • Desirable proven understanding of MSF Field Logistics

    Language:

    • English language is essential and local language desirable

    Social Worker

    ain Purpose 

    • Carry out all activities aimed at addressing individuals’ social critical needs (related to assistance and/or protection), promoting their overall well-being and autonomy through social support, and strengthening community-based social interventions (depending on the scope of the social work component in the project).
    • These activities should consider the social determinants of health to ensure a holistic approach to people’s needs and to uphold the well-being, safety, agency and dignity of MSF patients.

    Job Description (Accountabilities)

    • Conduct social assessments of service users’ situation to identify vulnerabilities and social critical needs including legal, protection, shelter/housing, financial/vocational, food security, and access to other critical services beyond the project scope.
    • Support the provision of holistic care to service users, by actively coordinating with the other members of the MSF multidisciplinary team (especially medical and MHPSS).
    • Provide direct social support interventions to service users, facilitate safe referrals to vetted external services/actors to address social critical needs identified during assessment (assistance and protection), and ensure tailored follow up.
    • Under the supervision of the line manager, contribute to the mapping and regular updating of formal and informal support services (incl. existing community resources).
    • Contribute to assessing quality and safety of existing support services, as well as the identification of gaps.
    • Flag any changes to vulnerabilities or patterns identified during social assessments to PC as well as concerns over the quality or gaps of support services supporting potential advocacy efforts.
    • Participate in the development and adaptation of tools and other material needed for the job.
    • Collect and record data, statistics and files in a timely manner and according to the data protection policy, MSF ethical guidelines and legal standards.

    Requirements 
    Education:

    • Bachelor Degree in Social Work (BSW) or other relevant degree in social sciences, psychology, law.
    • Degree in Social Work is essential. Master’s degree in social work is considered an asset.

    Experience:

    • Two years minimum in a similar social job; (a social worker/case worker/ protection officer), managing complex cases with critical social needs (protection, psychosocial, sexual and gender-based violence, key populations etc.), carrying out community social services or social services in health facilities
    • Experience with MSF or other NGOs, desirable.
    • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to navigate the national/local social
    • welfare system

    Language:
