The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, installation, supervision, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems across residential, commercial, and large-scale property development projects.
The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering systems, construction practices, power distribution, lighting, backup power systems, and electrical installations. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Design & Engineering
- Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, layouts, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Design and supervise electrical power distribution systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Prepare electrical load calculations and determine appropriate electrical capacity requirements.

- Ensure proper installation of conduits, cables, trunking, cable trays, distribution boards, switchgear, lighting fixtures, sockets, and other electrical components.

Power & Backup Systems
- Plan and supervise the installation and maintenance of generators, transformers, inverters, UPS systems, and other backup power solutions.

- Supervise installation of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), synchronisation systems, control panels, and related equipment where applicable.
- Review and monitor electrical power consumption and recommend energy-efficient solutions.

Testing, Commissioning & Quality Control
- Conduct and supervise electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure proper testing of cables, circuits, insulation resistance, earthing systems, protective devices, and electrical equipment.
- Verify that completed electrical installations are safe, functional, and compliant with project requirements.
- Prepare testing, inspection, and commissioning reports.
- Ensure all defects and snags are identified and rectified before project handover.
- Participate in project inspections, handover processes, and final acceptance of electrical installations.
Project Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with Project Managers, Architects, Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Contractors, and other consultants.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant professional experience in electrical engineering, construction, or property development.
- Candidates with 12+ years' experience will be strongly preferred for senior project assignments.
- Membership or registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is highly desirable.
- Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is an added advantage.
