    Driver - Non Commercial, Domestic Driver

    Role Summary

    • The Non-Commercial Driver is responsible for driving company vehicles (passenger cars, smaller trucks) for the transportation of goods and staff across designated locations. 
    • This role focuses on safe, punctual, and reliable driving for company business needs.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties
    Category / % of Total Workload / Responsibilities:
    Vehicle Operation & Safety - 30%:

    • Operate company-owned vehicles (passenger cars, small trucks, or similar) in a safe and professional manner.
    • Adhere to all traffic regulations and road safety practices.
    • Ensure that vehicles are maintained in top working condition.

    Vehicle Maintenance & Upkeep - 25%:

    • Perform regular checks on the vehicle’s condition (e.g., oil, tyre pressure, engine performance) and report any issues immediately.
    • Maintain cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, including any company branding.

    Documentation & Paperwork - 15%:

    • Maintain up-to-date vehicle documentation, including insurance, registration, and permits.
    • Complete logbooks daily to track mileage, fuel consumption, and routes.
    • Comply with Nigerian transport regulations.

    Incident & Emergency Management - 10%:

    • Report accidents, damages, and vehicle breakdowns immediately.
    • Assist with minor vehicle repairs or coordinate breakdown assistance.

    Fuel Management - 10%:

    • Use fuel cards according to company procedures and ensure that fuel usage is regularly monitored.
    • Prevent any misuse or waste of fuel resources.

    Behavioral Standards - 5%:

    • Maintain professional conduct and uphold a positive attitude in all interactions.
    • Be punctual and adhere to schedules.

    Compliance - 5%:

    • Ensure the driver’s license is valid and that all vehicle documentation (e.g., insurance, registration) is up to date as per Nigerian law.
    • Zero tolerance for alcohol or substance abuse during work hours.

    Penalty & Compliance - 5%:

    • Follow company policies regarding parking, fuel misuse, and other operational procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum: Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE). A National Diploma (ND) or HND is an added advantage.
    • At least 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a non-commercial setting.

    Skills:

    • Excellent vision and physical fitness.
    • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to manage minor breakdowns.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and maintain professionalism at all times.

    License and Documents:

    • Required License: Lagos State Driver’s License for Non-Commercial Vehicles (Class G or equivalent).
    • Valid ID proofs such as National Identification Number (NIN), Voter ID Card, Proof of Address (Utility Bill showing current address).
    • Valid Bank Account details.
    • Medical Test Report from a government hospital or government-authorized hospital.

    Working Conditions

    • Salary: N70,000 to N90,000, based on experience and qualifications.
    • Benefits: Pension, NSITF, Workman Compensation, monthly incentives, and more.
    • Working Hours: Full-time, may require weekend work depending on needs.

    Commercial Driver

    Job Summary

    • The Commercial Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of goods for Infinity Tyres Limited. 
    • The driver will operate commercial vehicles for the delivery of products to various locations within Lagos, its outskirts, and beyond. 
    • his position requires a skilled driver who adheres to safety regulations and maintains the vehicle in optimal condition.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties
    Vehicle Operation & Safety:

    • Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans) for the transportation of tyres, lubricants, and other products.
    • Ensure strict adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations for the safety of goods and other road users.
    • Maintain a professional driving standard, with punctual deliveries to clients.

    Vehicle Maintenance and Upkeep:

    • Conduct regular maintenance checks on the vehicle (oil, pressure checks, tyre rotation) and report any repairs or issues to the Transport Manager.
    • Ensure the vehicle is clean (interior and exterior), and all company branding is maintained.

    Documentation & Paperwork:

    • Ensure all vehicle-related documents (insurance, vehicle papers, permits, etc.) are up to date.
    • Accurately maintain logbooks for daily routes, mileage, and fuel consumption.
    • Ensure compliance with Nigerian traffic laws and transport regulations.

    Incident Management:

    • Report any accidents, breakdowns, or damages immediately to the Transport Manager.
    • Cooperate with authorities in the case of any incidents or accidents.

    Fuel Management:

    • Ensure fuel cards are used correctly and fuel consumption is monitored regularly.
    • Avoid fuel wastage or misuse of fuel cards, as penalties will apply.

    Behavioral Standards:

    • Maintain a high standard of personal conduct, and act professionally with colleagues and customers.
    • Punctuality is crucial; always arrive at the designated destinations on time

    Compliance:

    • Maintain a valid driver’s license for commercial vehicles, and ensure all vehicle documents (insurance, roadworthiness, permits) are valid.
    • Adhere to Infinity Tyres' no-tolerance policy for substance abuse. The use of any addictive substances, drugs, or alcohol while on duty is prohibited.

    Penalty & Compliance:

    • Understand and comply with company rules regarding the misuse of fuel cards, incorrect parking (leading to towing), and late deliveries.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), a National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) is an advantage.
    • At least 3 years of experience in commercial driving.
    • Good eyesight and physical fitness.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian road traffic laws and transport regulations.
    • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot minor breakdowns.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain a professional relationship with the supervisor and clients.
    • Lagos State Driver’s License for Commercial Vehicles (Class E or equivalent).
    • Valid ID proofs such as National Identification Number (NIN), Voter ID Card, Proof of Address (Utility Bill showing current address).
    • Valid Bank Account details.
    • Medical Test Report from a government hospital or government-authorized hospital.
