Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Four Pillars PLUS Community Mobilization Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the Four Pillars PLUS team members to implement the main objectives of the project: to improve the quality and relevance of girls’ education and to boost retention rates for OVCs in selected LGAs of Calabar, Nigeria. The Community Mobilization Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the school officials, school management committees, PTAs, local education officials, local community leaders, beneficiaries’ parents/caretakers and other stakeholders to ensure that the project gains sustainable support within the community through strengthening caregivers’ productive skills and garnering their support for their children’s education particularly the girls. The Community Mobilization Coordinator is also expected to create a network of support and participation with the local government departments that can provide caregivers with critical knowledge, expertise and means to empower their financial productivity and know how.

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Four Pillars PLUS Gender-Mentor Coordinator will be responsible for identifying mentors and organizing mentor training workshops for a number of girls’ mentors in project schools. The Gender- Mentor Coordinator will ensure that mentoring sessions in project schools are being executed as planned and cover topics that are most relevant to the beneficiaries’ lives. The Gender-Mentor Coordinator will assist in the monthly report and work plan preparation; organize and execute mentors’ training workshops; monitor and evaluate mentor training and mentors’ performance; research and provide support to the Project Manager; facilitate the creation of sustainable girls’ mentoring venues; and prepare additional activities supporting secondary schools and implementing Internship and Vocational Training programs.

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Four Pillars PLUS Teacher Training Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the project manager identifying a cohort of head teachers and teachers, school officials and administrators, local education officials in relevant ministries in the project schools’ communities and organizing training workshops on participatory methodologies, pedagogy, math and science, gender sensitivity and inclusion to improve the quality of teaching and enrich the learning experience for all students, particularly girls. Through regular classroom observation, evaluation and feedback, the Teacher Training Coordinator will ensure that all trained teachers and school officials are applying lessons learned in the classrooms and across the schools with the objectives of increasing retention and improving academic performance for all students. The Teacher Training Coordinator will assist in the monthly report and work plan preparation; organize and execute teachers’ training workshops; monitor and evaluate trained teachers’ performance; research and provide support to the Project Manager and facilitate the creation of drop down trainings for sustainability of quality education for girls and OVCs in secondary schools.

The Senior Finance Administrative Officer will be responsible for working closely with FHI 360 Four Pillars PLUS staff to implement the main objectives of project: to improve the quality and relevance of girls’ education and boost retention rates in select regions of Nigeria. The project offers scholarships, girls’ mentoring, teacher training, and community participation to address the complex barriers to education. Senior Finance Administrative Officeris responsible for the administration of sound project budget, reviewing financial transactions, preparing imprest and reconciling all expenses on a timely manner and for ensuring that all records are in accordance with FHI 360 policies and procedures, and Nigerian national and local regulations and guidelines. This position may be required to work additional hours and on-call for after hours, weekend, and holiday duty for emergency situations.
