    Conflict Prevention and Peace Building Officer

    Position Summary

    • The Gender and Peace Building Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that promote gender equality, social inclusion, and conflict prevention within target communities in the state.
    • This role involves working closely with community members, local leaders, women’s groups, youth groups, and other stakeholders to build capacity, facilitate dialogue, and support initiatives that foster peaceful and inclusive societies.
    • The officer will report directly to the Program Manager, Gender and Peace Building.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and implement gender sensitive interventions and peace building initiatives in line with project objectives.
    • Facilitate community dialogues, sensitization campaigns, and training sessions on gender equality, women’s empowerment, social cohesion, and conflict resolution.
    • Support the establishment or strengthening of community structures that promote peaceful coexistence and gender equity.
    • Identify and document gender and conflict related issues within communities and propose context-appropriate solutions.
    • Collaborate with local authorities, traditional leaders, and civil society partners to advance gender and peace building objectives.
    • Integrate gender mainstreaming and conflict sensitive approaches into all program activities.
    • Prepare and submit timely reports on project progress, challenges, and success stories.
    • Ensure project activities comply with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and local cultural dynamics.
    • Support GPD resource mobilization effort
    • Carry out other task assigned by management.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • BSc/HND in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, or related field.
    • Design and implement gender-sensitive interventions and peace building initiatives in line with project objectives.
    • Facilitate community dialogues, sensitization, and training sessions on gender equality, women’s empowerment, social cohesion, and conflict resolution.
    • Support the establishment and strengthening of community structures that promote peaceful coexistence and gender equity
    • Identify and document gender and conflict-related issues within communities and propose context-appropriate solutions.
    • Integrate gender mainstreaming and conflict-sensitive approaches into all program activities.
    • Prepare and submit timely reports on project progress, challenges, and success stories.
    • Ensure project activities comply with donor policies, and local cultural dynamics.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong understanding of gender equality concepts, frameworks, and practical approaches to mainstreaming gender in community development and peace building.
    • Good knowledge of conflict analysis, prevention, and resolution strategies, including community dialogue and mediation techniques.
    • Ability to facilitate trainings, focus group discussions, and community sensitization sessions on gender and peace building topics.
    • Familiarity with cultural and social dynamics that affect gender roles and conflict in the project area.
    • Excellent report writing, documentation, and storytelling skills to capture success stories and lessons learned.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

    State Coordinator

    Position Summary

    • The State Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, coordination, and representation for Global Peace Development in Adamawa State.
    • The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of projects, ensuring they align with GPD’s strategic objectives.
    • This role will also support resource mobilization efforts and strengthen strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, civil society organizations, partners, and beneficiary communities.
    • Importantly, the ideal candidate must possess strong program management skills, the ability to lead and supervise project teams, and a deep understanding of GPD’s core thematic areas in the State.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of GPD projects in the State.
    • Lead resource mobilization efforts in the state
    • Ensure project activities and financial reporting are delivered on time, within budget, and meet donor reporting standard standards.
    • Supervise state project teams and provide technical support to ensure effective program delivery.
    • Serve as GPD’s focal point in Adamawa State, representing the organization in meetings, workshops and trainings, forums, and with relevant agencies in the state.
    • Build and maintain strong networks and partnerships with key local stakeholders.
    • Work with the MEAL team to ensure project outcomes are tracked, documented, and reported appropriately in line with donor and partners requirement.
    • Prepare and ensure timely progress reports submission, success stories, and other documentation to donors and partners.
    • Ensure staff compliance to the organization policies
    • Ensure all operations, procurement, and program activities are conducted in line with GPD’s policies and donor requirements.

    Education and Professional Qualifications

    • Minimum of B.Sc / HND in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Public Health, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an added advantage)
    • At least 3 years of experience in project implementation, coordination, or management within the development sector.
    • Strong experience working in Adamawa State or similar contexts.
    • Demonstrated capacity to lead teams, manage donor funded projects, and engage government and community stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Administrative Officer

    Position Summary

    • The Administrative Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the office.
    • This position is responsible for managing general administrative duties, supporting internal coordination, and maintaining an organized, safe, and functional work environment.
    • The role bearer will also be responsible for managing and safeguarding the office safe, including proper documentation and controlled access to its contents.

    Major Rowles and Responsibilities

    • Prepare and disseminate reports of the Organization’s staff weekly meetings
    • Support the Procurement of office and project supplies
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Preparing travel arrangements for the Staff and the management team
    • Track staff attendance and movement through registers
    • Coordinate logistics arrangements for meetings
    • Manage office phone lines and record internal and external correspondence
    • Support the Partnership and Business Development Manager on Proposal Development

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • B.Sc / HND in Business Administration, Office Technology and management or related field of studies.
    • At least 3 - 5 years’ work experience, of which must be professional in administrative roles
    • Proven ability to provide a high level of support to the management team.
