    Communications Officer

    Location: Yobe
    Employment Type: Full-time

    Job Summary

    • We seek a Communications Officer to Support its Organization and Communications Unit
    • This person will support the expansion, coordination, and improvement of CCDRN’s communication work at the field level, develop, document, and share good practice, success stories, and lessons from program implementations at the state level, develop a communication plan, tools, and materials to ensure successful program implementation of CCDRN’s various partners
    • The ideal candidate is a self-starter with outstanding team management and project management abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments.

    Reporting & Supervision:

    • The Communications Officer will report to the Communications Manager

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Support the development of CCDRN’s internal and external communications strategy in order to maintain and enhance the visibility for and reputation of CCDRN and its partners
    • Generate quality multimedia content including writing, video, photo, and audio storytelling, as well as collecting and analyzing CCDRN’s data to produce comprehensive infographic materials.
    • Assist in the development of culturally appropriate user-friendly information and educational materials for audiences with limited literacy levels.
    • Support CCDRN’s advocacy efforts through the development of appropriate communication messaging, materials, and tools.
    • Prepare press releases and press kits as requested in accordance with CCDRN’s policy and under the supervision of the Communications Specialist.
    • Support the Communications lead in the timely dissemination of program information internally and externally
    • Support the development of communications materials and participate in the production, review, and comment on print and electronic media materials including Newsletters, Banners, scripts, posters, leaflets, video / audio recordings
    • Support effective design and delivery of communications products that convey well the desired message to the targeted audience(s).
    • Integrate internal and external communications with Operational Information Management.
    • Support capacity building of CCDRN staff on communications and contribute to preparedness actions, providing recommendations and guidance and monitoring the management of communications specific risks
    • Undertake any other duties assigned to you

    Qualifications

    • At least a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mass Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Development / Communication Studies, Public Relations or other related fields
    • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in communications and reporting in the nonprofit sector
    • Relevant experience in multimedia journalism will be an added advantage.

    Education Advisor

    Job Summary

    • The Education Advisor is responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership, guidance & oversight to the CCDRN’s National Office program in areas of Education.
    • Support all education program teams and ensure all Education / Education in Emergencies (EiE) programming is of excellent technical quality, attracts significant donor funding, and contributes significantly to CCDRNs strategic objectives, national/global learning, and advocacy.
    • S/he will provide strategic and technical leadership and assume the overall responsibility for the growth, development, and quality of the education portfolio.
    • S/He must possess a leadership profile with a proven track record in education and a sound technical background in program design, capacity development, and delivery. S/he should also have experience in managing complex programming delivery in conflict and fragile contexts, including in times of remote access.

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    • As the Education Advisors/he will be responsible for contributing to the design and delivery of our education programming and the development of CCDRN’s education strategy. S/he will provide high-quality technical support to National Offices to ensure all programs are delivered at the highest quality for children.
    • Provide technical assistance in the delivery of funded programs, contribute to building evidence from our work, and disseminate this among key audiences
    • Be up to date on relevant national/global education policy and programming within and beyond CCDRN with a focus on basic education.
    • Developing screening, referral, outreach, training, and support protocols and systems needed to implement education programs.
    • Updating inclusive education teacher training courses and ensuring teacher education aligns with Inclusive Education Policy and screening tools
    • Provide expert technical advice on the design and quality implementation of CCDRN’s interventions ensuring the approach is consistent with other agencies and integrated with other CCDRN’s activities.
    • To lead on the development of the education strategy, ensuring strategic recommendations are practical and results-focused.
    • Represent CCDRN in relevant working groups and on other relevant education networks.
    • Advice on developing integrated projects with education as a key theme, advice on creating education projects for OOSC and street children.
    • Quality technical leadership and advice for the design, implementation, and monitoring of education work at State, LGA, and community levels.
    • Identifying innovative approaches and incorporating them into CCDRNs projects.
    • Support the development of an organizational culture that reflects our values, promotes accountability and high performance, and frees up people to deliver outstanding results for children.
    • Provide technical support and oversight of education program activities. Provide technical advice on the quality of implementation of program activities.
    • Work closely with other technical teams for possible integration into other programs.
    • Lead and draft quality proposals for the education program and oversee quality research in the field of education
    • Make regular visits to field sites, to monitor and oversee education program implementation and offer advice
    • Work with the MEAL unit to develop tools and ideas to ensure that education programs are monitored against measurable and appropriate indicators.
    • Support program assessments, evaluations, and other reviews required in the program.
    • Identify learning and training opportunities for CDRN staff and partners and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff. Together with other sectors, identify sector-integrated capacity-building opportunities.
    • Assist Project Officers in developing a program implementation plan and procurement plan
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the Program Managers, Officers, and field staff in the effective delivery of program implementation on time: monitor against log frames, review actual vs target, review budget vs actual expenses, and advise corrective measures: a review of the work plan and prepare acceleration plan
    • Lead the development, design, and analysis of continuous assessments of Education and cross-sectoral needs in schools and communities, and ensure that these are appropriately reflected in sectoral strategies and programs design and development;
    • Develop and update the Education strategy, ensuring consistency with global Education Breakthrough, Education Common Approaches, Quality Learning Framework and with CCDRNs Theory of Change;
    • Work collaboratively with other sectors on ways to integrate Education with other programs, where relevant, in order to maximize impact for children and families.
    • Ensure recognized international best practices and CCDRN policies are applied in the work with children; promote the safe participation of children in our programs.
    • Improve/strengthen the coordination of CCDRNs work with the National and States Ministries of Education.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess a B.Ed / Master's Degree / PhD qualification with a minimum of 5 years work experience.

    Local Engagement Officer

    Job Description

    • Facilitate formation of Protect Technical Committee and maintain a good relationship with PTC members
    • Facilitate formation of Project Management Committees (PMCs), and work closely with them to support them discharge their responsibilities
    • Mobilize stakeholders for the conduct of Community-Based Participatory Planning (CBPP)
    • Mobilize communities for the conduct of targeting and registration of beneficiaries
    • Lead in conducting sensitization of beneficiaries, before, ducting and after distribution activities
    • Work with protection officer to manage beneficiaries’ complaints
    • Maintain cordial relationships with project stakeholders at LGA and community levels
    • Mobilize for smallholder farmers to participate in training and other engagements
    • Lead in organizing routine roundtable discussion meetings with stakeholders at the LGA level

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Social Science or any relevant field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of progressively working with stakeholders in the LGA
    • Previous experience of working with government, private sector, producer organizations, or smallholder farmers
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the latest developments in advancing good/best practices in value chain development and present value chain approaches
    • Good understanding of the local political and economic context of the LGA.

    Relevant Skills:

    • Creativity, willingness to innovate, think systemically, and design catalytic approaches to intervening
    • Ability to communicate, negotiate, advise, persuade, or resolve issues that are highly complex or sensitive in nature

    Data Analyst

    Job Purpose

    • We seek a Data Analyst to Support its Organization MEAL Unit.
    • The Data Analyst will support the implementation and improvement of the MEAL system by advancing the analytical needs of CCDRN.
    • She/he will bring together innovations and practices to identify and communicate data-driven insights that allow managers, program staff, and other field officers in an organization to make more informed decisions.
    • She/he will support the coordination of data collection, data quality assurance, and capacity building of field staff on data management systems.

    Reporting & Supervision:

    • The Data Analyst will report to the MEAL Manager.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Support design, implementation, and strengthening of CCDRN MEAL systems
    • Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that are valuable for program improvement, operational research, and decision making.
    • Prepare reports that effectively communicate trends, patterns, info-graphs, and forecasts.
    • Support development of data flowchart, program indicators, and data tools;
    • Work closely with the M&E Manager to conduct research and program evaluation across CCDRN targeted communities in-line with donors/partners' requirements.
    • Ensure timely and quality data collection across all the projects locations;
    • Contribute to program efforts to build the technical, system, and operational capacity of relevant stakeholders on the development and implementation of program data management systems (Analysis, Reporting and Data Storage);
    • Design and implement electronic data collection (smartphone) and management of database servers and statistical applications such as SPSS, Python, GIS, Kobo, ODK, STATA, Microsoft Excel, etc.
    • Work closely with the MEAL Officer to conduct field visits for Data Quality Assurance (DQA) and provide feedback on areas of improvement.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field. An Advanced Degree is preferred;
    • Candidates should possess 3 - 10 years of work experience.
    • Proven skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as data visualization;
    • Significant experience in research, data collection, dissemination methodologies, and data storage;
    • Competence in using Statistical packages such as SPSS, Python, GIS, Kobo, ODK, STATA, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Previous NGO experience and a strong knowledge of donors reporting requirements is an advantage; and

    MEAL Officer

    Job Summary

    • We seek a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer to Support its Organization M&E Unit.
    • The MEAL Officer will support the development, implementation, and refinement of the CCDRN MEAL system and manage performance monitoring, adaptive management, and evaluations.
    • S/he will support the coordination of field monitoring and expert assessments, capacity strengthening, and other personnel responsible for monitoring performance, and the development and implementation of data management systems.

    Reporting & Supervision:

    • The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Officer will report to the M&E Manager.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Support design, implementation, and strengthening of CCDRN MEAL systems
    • Support development of program indicators and targets;
    • Work closely with the M&E Manager to conduct research and program evaluation across CCDRN targeted communities in-line with donors/partners' requirements.
    • Monitor and analyze program implementation progress, and timely data collection;
    • Develop and implement a learning agenda across all the technical components of the CCDRN projects in-line with donors' requirements;
    • Support capacity building of program and M&E team to carry out activities;
    • Contribute to program efforts to build the technical, systems, and operational capacity of relevant stakeholders on the development and implementation of program data management systems;
    • Conduct field visits, as necessary, to develop monitoring/performance management plans with technical teams;
    • Produce regular communication of MEAL activities to program team and partners
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required. An Advanced Degree in Education or Social Sciences is preferred;
    • 4 - 10 years of work experience;
    • Proven skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as capacity building experience;
    • Significant experience in data collection, dissemination methodologies, and the creation of indicator targets;
    • Previous NGO experience and a strong knowledge of donors reporting requirements is an advantage; and
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork. Effective communication skills, able to make formal and informal presentations both orally and in writing, and produce professional and analytical reports and program documents.
    • Willingness to travel to any part of the country especially northeast Nigeria.
