Production Supervisor – Beverage Manufacturing at a Reputable Company

We are a start-up in the beverage manufacturing industry, and committed to excellence, innovation, and the delivery of high-quality beverage products. As part of our start-up phase we are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor, who is very keen to get in at the ground level, to oversee operations at our production facility in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of our products

The Production Supervisor will lead a team of production line operators, manage daily production schedules, and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be instrumental in achieving production targets and maintaining operational excellence

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of production line staff, ensuring adherence to schedules and performance standards
• Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications. Implement and enforce all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment
• Manage raw material usage and finished goods output, minimizing waste and optimizing efficiency
• Participate in the development of new products especially from the perspective of product quality, shelf-life stability and regulatory compliance
• Train and mentor production operators on proper machine operation, quality control, and safety procedures
• Conduct regular quality checks and troubleshoot production issues, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality data 
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and company policies
• Manage inventory levels for production supplies and ensure timely reordering
• Foster a positive and productive team environment, promoting teamwork and accountability

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in either Food Science, Food Technology, Food Process Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a production or supervisory role within the food and beverage manufacturing industry
• Demonstrated knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and safety regulations (GMP, GHP, HACCP)
• Experience leading and motivating a team of production staff. Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines
• A flexible approach to work
• Proficiency in computer skills for record-keeping and reporting
