    Chief Financial Officer

    Summary

    • The position will contribute towards the strategic development of all the operating divisions within the Group.
    • The primary areas of responsibility will be to oversee financial operations and ensure that proper accounting practices are adopted and implemented across the organization.
    • This will ensure that the Group has a strong accounting and financial base.
    • As a member of Senior Management team, the Chief Finance Officer will recommend and implement strategic initiatives that will lead to financial stability, compliance with statutory regulations and an increase in profitability.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Develop and implement a strategy for finance and accounting. This will cover financial controls, treasury, management information reporting, and investment appraisals.
    • Improve the financial systems, controls, and procedures within and between the operating companies
    • Direct the compliance, regulatory and risk management functions
    • Review the budgeting process and impose budgetary discipline
    • Develop and implement effective financial forecasting mechanisms
    • Develop and present financial reports to Executive Management
    • Through effective cash forecasting, assure the adequacy of funds sourcing and banking support for the Group ensuring the availability of funds through effective banking relationships and enhancing treasury management systems.
    • When required, negotiate, and arrange external financing for business operation

    QMS, EMS & QH&SMS Responsibilities:

    • Implement the QMS as defined by the manual and related procedures.
    • Obtain and communicate customer requirements to the appropriate personnel or functional organization.
    • Ensure that qualified personnel and other resources are available to implement the QMS.
    • Ensure that services satisfy customer requirements including quality, safety, cost, schedule, and performance; and.
    • Ensure that personnel comply with applicable laws, regulations, specifications, standards, and documented procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Class ranking in a reputable MBA or MS in Finance/Accounting.
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA or ICAN Certified).
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience.
    • 10+ years of experience in related industry- Oil & Gas, Construction and Financial institution.

    Underwriter Team Lead

    Description

    • Responsible for carrying out assessment on information provided by clients and prospects to determine the capacity of borrowers to repay their financial obligations and mitigate credit risk.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and evaluate loan applications submitted by Loan Officers to identify potential risks of the borrower.
    • Collaborate with other business units to ensure quality and efficient decision-making process for loan approvals.
    • Proper and fast redistribution of loan applications, ensuring the highest processing speed of applications.
    • Verify the accuracy of information received and calculations made during financial analysis.
    • Make recommendation on changes and improvement plans to the existing process to achieve maximum efficiency in the decision-making process.
    • Collect and analyze relevant data for improved risk assessment decisions
    • Provide feedback for underwriting policy reviews and updates.
    • Support strategic initiatives in terms of risk scoring, ID checking and automated acceptance.
    • Manage end to end loan underwriting processes including requesting, collecting, and managing required document.
    • Reviews loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to approval conditions.
    • Prepare, circulate and maintain Due Diligence Checklists for credit processing
    • Collect, review and advise loan team regarding receipt and status of all underwriting documentation.
    • Establish loan files in designated software and assure electronic and hard copy documentation is placed in appropriate location.
    • Order and obtain reports and verifications from external parties including credit bureaus, NIBSS and other verification parties.
    • Responsible for conducting research on borrowers and industries..
    • Upon receipt of borrower credit documentations transfers data from analysis documentation to credit narrative and make loan recommendation to Head of Risk or authorized approval.
    • Structures and recommends loans based on risk considerations and submit credits for appropriate approval.
    • Ensures that loans are processed within the stipulated timelines.
    • Strict adherence and compliance to stipulated policies, procedures and industry best practice.
    • Provide support  in  the  preparation and  submission of  credit  committee meeting presentation, including drafting sections of the underwriting narrative and summary analysis of loan portfolio.
    • Works closely with Head of Risk to monitor existing portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems.
    • Works with the Head of Risk on best credit policies, procedures and industry best practice.
    • Takes ownership of the credit process, making decisions in the best interest of the customer and organization.
    • Identifies policy exceptions within a credit request.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting etc.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in banking operations, risk analysis, auditing, actuarial science, internal control or related fields
    • Professional affiliation or membership with relevant institutions
    • Evidence of completion of Microfinance Certification program is an add on
    • Excellent spoken level of English (minimum Upper-Intermediate level)
    • Good organizational, communication and presentation skills
    • Experience in credit underwriting of microfinance clients (2 years +)
    • Ability to make independent decisions.

    Head, Credit Risk

    Description

    • The job holder is responsible for the measurement, management and mitigation of organizational risk portfolio.
    • He/she will develop and implement systems, policies and procedures aimed at mitigation of risks that may pose threat to the the reputation, safety, and financial sustainability of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Planning, designing implementing & managing the overall risk management process for the bank by developing the risk management framework, policies, processes, procedures and reporting standards that define the bank’s risk strategy and appetite in line with its overall business objectives.
    • Monitor the business development for emerging risks and recommend policies and procedures to improve the risk management process.
    • Facilitate the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, controlling and reporting the level of risks.
    • Maintain oversight over the bank’s enterprise risk management activities

    • Monitor violations of credit policies, provide analysis, conclusion and recommendations, present findings to senior management and recommend actions/penalties to be taken when appropriate.
    • Prepare timely, comprehensive and reliable credit risk reports to senior management and board on a regular basis.
    • Identifying risk in portfolios, provide intelligence, report anomalies, and make recommendations.
