    Head, Operations

    Sector: Transportation

    Overview

    • Head Operations responsibilities include oversee operational daily activities across cross functional units, designing policies, overseeing customer service and implementing technology solutions.
    • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the organization and ensure growth, profitability and return on investment on its activities.

    Skills and Capabilities

    • Lead and manage operations and supply chain activities, including but not limited to procurement, logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory management, customer service.
    • Management of the company’s fleet and mechanical handling equipment’s (MHE)
    • Interface with other business units’ managers – planning, sourcing, procurement, logistics, engineering, assets/facilities, operations, warehouse, inventory, transport and distribution to ensure the organization desired objectives are met
    • Track key performance indicators on operations activities including timeliness, lead time, total cost of ownership (TCO), supply scheduling, routing planning, inventory optimization, obsolescence, service delivery and costs savings.
    • Manage the organization’s planning, finance, human resources, sourcing, procurement, logistics, warehouse, inventory, quality control, security and annual costs.
    • Ensure employee compliance with organization’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies.  
    • Manage the Company’s supply chain and coordinate the maintenance of the company's fleet
    • Inventory and warehouse management
    • Manage customer database and ensure open communication with major customers
    • Ensure smooth and successful deliveries 
    • Create and manage the website and mobile app
    • Work closely with the Sales and Market department on sales and marketing strategies 
    • Conduct risk management exercises and develop risk mitigation strategies.

    Qualifications

    • First Degree from a reputable tertiary institution in Transport, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing & Sales, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
    • M.Sc/MBA is an added advantage
    • Professional certification in logistics and supply chain
    • Strong knowledge of logistics management for efficient service delivery
    • Proven track record of successful distribution and logistics management
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
    • Experience leading and managing a sizeable team.
    • Expertise in logistics, inventory and warehouse management.

    Head, Sales and Marketing

    Head, Finance and Admin

    Overview

    • The Head Finance and Admin will be responsible for creating financial forecasting models, assessing risk in investments and ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations. 
    • Develop and oversee the corporate financial goals and objectives of the organization.
    • He / She will provide exemplary financial advice, analysis, budgeting and reporting to top management.

    Skills and Capabilities

    • Design and implement strategies and mechanisms to safeguard the company’s financial assets
    • Liase with all relevant heads to develop the company’s annual corporate budget and the allocation of financial resources 
    • Coordinate the proactive monitoring and reporting of budget positions of all the departments and units

    • Continuously review the Finance department’s activities and make recommendations for improvement to the Head, Finance and Corporate services
    • Provide technical, logistic and administrative support to the Executive Management in the review and approval of the outcomes of the appraisal process, including attendance at such Executive Management meeting(s)
    • Oversee and ensure regular update of staff compensation details and payroll system
    • Facilitate accurate and timely payroll processing and salary disbursement to all staff
    • Ensure that the HR Policies and Procedures manual and staff handbook are up to date in line with current trends, realities and best practices
    • Keep abreast on all matters affecting staff and their welfare, and escalate any staff related issues or complaint accordingly
    • Manage procurement and ensure the resources of the organization are adequately maintained
    • Coordinate all admin activities within the organization.

    Qualifications

    • First Degree from a reputable tertiary institution in Finance, Accounting, or any related field 
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance or at least 5 years of accounting or finance experience
    • MSc/ MBA is an added advantage
    • Profession certification ACA, ACCA or similar qualification
    • Ability to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systemic impact of various policies, issues and solutions.
    • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication, business presentation and analytical skills
    • High sense of responsibility, accountability, integrity and ethical standards
    • Good business acumen, maturity and tact, with the ability to relate with top management of financial institutions
    • Excellent appreciation and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applicable tools
    • Good knowledge of finance and accounting.

    Chief Executive Officer

    • Proven experience in business transformation, process improvement and business development
    • Proven experience in haulage, cargo, warehousing, and distribution channels
    • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to link operations performance with the organization goals and objectives.
    • Proven experience in establishing a strong performance management culture
    • Experience leading and managing a sizeable team.
    • Proven experience in transport and logistics industry.
