    Workshop Manager

    Job Summary

    As our Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the workshop and overseeing the day-day operations of the workshop. you will also play a pivotal role in ensuring the proper maintenance and functioning of construction equipment and vehicles.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervising a team of mechanics and technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, cranes, caterpillars, trucks etc 
    •  Developing preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to keep equipment in optimal condition.
    • Managing inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs and ordering and tracking spare parts and ensuring their availability when required 
    • Hiring, training and supervising workshop staff, ensuring they follow safety procedures and industry best practices and assigning tasks. Scheduling work and monitoring the performance of mechanics and technicians. 
    • Managing the workshop’s budget, controlling expenses, and optimizing cost-effective maintenance solutions. 

    Requirements

    • BSC in a relevant field e.g. (automative technology, mechanical engineering) 
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant previous experience in a workshop or maintenance role with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
    • Strong technical knowledge in fixing/repairing of plants and equipment. 
    • Proficiency in computer software for documentation and reporting and diagnostic machines to diagnose faults in equipment.
