The Well & Surveillance Engineer plays a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and optimizing well performance to maximize production efficiency and ensure operational excellence.
The position requires a deep understanding of well design, surveillance techniques, reservoir behavior, and production systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
A minimum of #5 years of experience in well surveillance, well engineering, or production optimization within the oil and gas industry.
Certifications in relevant technical domains, such as Well Control (IWCF or IADC), are highly desirable.
Familiarity with industry software (e.g., OFM, PROSPER, Petrel, WellView, Eclipse).
Membership in a professional organization such as SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers)
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of design, construction, and completion.
Proficiency in surveillance techniques, well-testing, and data interpretation.
Knowledge of artificial lift systems and production enhancement technologies.
Ability to interpret complex data sets to diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
Strategic thinking to develop optimization plans for underperforming wells.
Knowledge of HSE standards and ability to implement safety protocols.
Experience conducting risk assessments and mitigating operational risks.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and advancements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information.
