We are seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Plant Operator to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our water treatment plant in Lekki, Lagos. This role is pivotal in delivering safe and clean water to our clients, contributing to their health and well-being.
• The successful candidate will not only oversee the technical aspects of the water treatment process but will also play a managerial role, supervising maintenance personnel and ensuring seamless operations.

Responsibilities
Plant Maintenance and Operation:

• Maintain and operate water treatment plant systems, ensuring optimal performance.
• Oversee filtering and chemical treatment processes to meet quality standards.

Inspection and Repairs:

• Inspect, service, and repair components of the water treatment plant, including water intakes, pipes, storage vessels, chemical treatment equipment, and controls.
• Address issues promptly to prevent disruptions in water supply.

Water Supply Management:

• Ensure a consistent and adequate supply of clean water for human consumption and various activities.
• Monitor water distribution and collection systems, addressing any issues that may arise.

Work Orders and Reporting:

• Prepare work orders for servicing and repairs, documenting actions taken.
• Arrange for significant repairs and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.

Routine Inspections:

• Conduct weekly inspections of treatment plant systems to verify effective operations.
• Adhere to the works timetable for scheduled client location visits.

Record Keeping:

• Keep a daily log of plant operations, repairs, and inspections.
• Assist in the completion of necessary reports as requested.

Standby Duties:

• Work on a standby rotation to address any emergency issues outside regular working hours.

Managerial Responsibilities:

• Act as a manager for water treatment jobs, overseeing and hiring maintenance personnel or technicians.
• Provide supervision and technical guidance to the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• B.Sc Degree with 2-3 years of relevant work experience.

Technical Skills:

• Water and sanitation systems management
• Water sampling and testing techniques
• Inspection procedures for water treatment plant components
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems
• Operation and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment (pumps, valves, chemical treatment systems, etc.)
• Understanding of water and sewer distribution and collection systems
• Familiarity with applicable bylaws and procedures
• Proficient use of computer systems for standard software packages (e-mail, Word, Excel) and PDA devices.
