Land Surveyor at ROCAD Construction Limited

Job Summary

ROCAD Construction Limited is seeking an experienced and competent Land Surveyor to support its road and civil construction projects. The successful candidate must possess strong practical knowledge of surface surveying and be proficient in taking horizontal levels, establishing road alignments, and determining differential levels for culverts and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and topographical surveys for construction projects.
• Accurately take and establish horizontal levels.
• Set out road alignments, centre lines, curves, and construction boundaries.
• Determine differential levels for culverts, drains, and other drainage structures.
• Establish benchmarks, reference points, and survey control points.
• Carry out setting-out activities in accordance with approved engineering drawings.
• Take accurate site measurements and maintain proper survey records.
• Interpret construction drawings, site plans, and survey data.
• Prepare survey reports, field notes, and other relevant documentation.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other site personnel.
• Ensure all surveying equipment is properly handled, calibrated, and maintained.
• Observe all site health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum qualification of a Secondary School Certificate, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Good practical working experience in surface surveying.
• Proven ability to take horizontal and differential levels accurately.
• Experience in road alignment, culvert, and drainage setting-out.
• Ability to operate relevant surveying instruments and equipment.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and site plans.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Willingness to work on construction sites and in different field conditions.
