The Transport Officer will play a central role in managing and coordinating all light‑vehicle operations within EZM & CC.
This position requires a highly organized and proactive professional who can ensure efficient vehicle utilization, compliance with safety standards, and smooth day‑to‑day transport operations.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in record‑keeping, driver supervision, fuel management, and operational planning.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operational management of all light vehicles assigned to EZM & CC, ensuring optimal deployment and utilization.
Maintain an up‑to‑date database of all drivers, including contact information, licensing status, training records, and official trip logs.
Ensure that pre‑ and post‑mobility checks are conducted for every vehicle, with all inspection reports properly completed and signed by drivers.
Supervise the fueling process, ensuring authorized fuel usage, monitoring consumption efficiency, and managing fuel top‑up cards for approved vehicles.
Track and reconcile fuel transactions, and prepare monthly reports on fuel consumption, vehicle usage, work orders, and related documentation.
Process vehicle requisitions on SAP, handling requests from Heads of Department based on approved travel plans.
Serve as the primary liaison for drivers regarding vehicle allocation, maintenance needs, and operational concerns.
Ensure all vehicles comply with internal safety standards and external regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records of inspections and certifications.
Coordinate periodic training for drivers on safe vehicle handling, defensive driving, company policies, and emergency procedures.
Develop and maintain emergency response protocols for vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or other transport‑related incidents, ensuring all drivers are trained accordingly.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the line manager in support of transport and logistics operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Transport Logistics Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
2–3 years of professional experience in transportation management, logistics coordination, or a similar operational role.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and within a team.
Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and attention to detail, particularly in record‑keeping and operational planning.
Proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is an added advantage.
Knowledge of vehicle safety standards, fleet management practices, and driver supervision.
