    Technical Assistant

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support (type correspondences, reports and other documents) to the GM.
    • Controlling and managing Stock, engineering office files, coordination of office inventory and ordering of office supplies.
    • Supervise equipment usage, equipment maintenance; maintain usage records accordingly.
    • Manage engineering crew change for offshore crew.
    • Input to the preparation of vessel specification, periodic inspection of assets, ensuring marine databases are in date.
    • Assist the port engineer with compilation of specifications, quotation for dry docking and drydocking reports as provided port engineer.
    • Follow up on repairs/services as arranged by the General Manager or Port Engineer
    • Produce work packs for scheduled maintenance and modifications, project plans, vessel maintenance programs, defining materials and tool required for routine maintenance.
    • Management, planning and coordination of periodic services, dry docking and vessel upgrades and where possible, implement planned maintenance systems via
    • Computerized Maintenance Management System.
    • Input to the preparation of vessel specification, periodic inspection of assets, ensuring marine databases are in date.
    • Keeping record of ship certificates and follow up on class survey certificates.

    Educational Qualifications, Certifications and

    Experience:

    Educational Qualifications:

    • HND/B.SC in Marine/Mechanical Engineering
    • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel (VBA is an added advantage) and Microsoft power BI
    • Programming knowledge is an added advantage (e.g. python, JAVA, SQL)
    • Experience in the use of CAD or Solid works.
    • Experience in an engineering servicing firm is an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a technical Administration related field.
