Daily spooling of General Ledger (GL) balances of branches and head office departments.
Review of the GL pullout of Income & Contingent sub-heads.
Performs In-depth Investigation on GL to identify wrong postings, irregular and abnormal balances or accounts with wrong classification.
Liaising with branches and departments having abnormal balances in their income & contingent accounts to regularize.
Collaborate with internal control department in ensuring that all improper balances in GL are cleared promptly by branches and departments responsible.
Preparation and Review of Monthly Income and Expenses trends for input into the revenue assurance MANCO report.
Review fixed deposit booked on the system, to ensure there are no unverified system actions preventing roll over and non-interest payment.
Review of fixed deposit exception/ recovery report for inclusion in the MANCO paper monthly.
Review uncollected management and commitment fees report on a monthly basis for loan and overdraft, to ensure all fees are taken, and approvals obtained where there are waivers.
Re-computation of interest income on overdraft, Account maintenance fees, loans, FIP, ROU etc. and charges to ensure completeness of the system in calculating and collecting these fees.
Uncollected fees are raised as an exception against the relevant department/unit in the bank for immediate recoup.
Development of additional scripts to validate system/user accuracy in collection of other income due the bank.
Liaising with branches on reasons for drop/increase in income or correct wrong classification of accounts.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly Review of Trial Balance of the bank for trend analysis.
Provision of audit requirements for External and Internal Audits
Providing explanations on audit queries arising from Statutory Audits.
Participate in special projects in the bank e.g. Automation of income, Finacle etc.
Perform ad hoc duties as may be required from time to time
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum Education: First degree in Applied or Social Sciences, Higher Degree/Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CISA, or its equivalent
Experience
Minimum experience: IT proficiency with minimum of three years of relevant banking operations and financial control functions
