    Tally Clerk Supervisor

    The Role

    • The Tally Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating tally operations related to the receiving, loading, offloading, counting, and documentation of cargo, materials, or inventory. The role ensures accurate recording of quantities, verification of goods, and compliance with operational procedures to support efficient warehouse and logistics activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise daily tally activities during cargo receiving, loading, and dispatch operations.
    • Ensure accurate counting, recording, and verification of goods/materials.
    • Coordinate tally clerks and operational support staff during shifts.
    • Cross-check cargo quantities against manifests, invoices, delivery notes, and other supporting documents.
    • Investigate and report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or excess cargo.
    • Maintain accurate tally sheets and operational records.
    • Ensure timely submission of tally reports and documentation.
    • Monitor cargo handling activities to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with procedures.
    • Liaise with warehouse, logistics, transport, and operations teams for smooth coordination.
    • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and operational safety standards.
    • Train and guide tally personnel on proper tally procedures and reporting standards.
    • Support periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation exercises.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in logistics, terminal operations, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in tally operations, warehouse operations, logistics, or cargo handling.
    • Strong numerical and record-keeping skills.
    • Good understanding of cargo handling and inventory control processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
    • Good leadership and supervisory skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced operational environments.
