    Storekeeper

    Job Description

    • Receive, inspect, and verify the quantity and quality of incoming materials, equipment, and supplies against purchase orders or delivery notes.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, stock movements, and shelf-life monitoring, using manual or computerized inventory management systems.
    • Organize and store materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and identification to facilitate easy retrieval and distribution.
    • Issue materials and supplies to construction teams according to approved requisitions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to support project schedules.
    • Conduct regular stock checks and inventory audits to identify discrepancies, shortages, or surplus items and reconcile discrepancies through proper documentation and reporting.
    • Monitor material consumption and usage patterns, forecast future requirements, and communicate inventory needs to procurement or purchasing departments as necessary.
    • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and logistics providers to arrange for the timely delivery and transportation of materials to and from the construction site.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies and procedures related to the handling, storage, and disposal of materials.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the store area, including proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
    • Assist in the preparation of inventory reports, stock reconciliation statements, and other documentation required for management review and decision-making.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc in any relevant discipline; additional certification in inventory management or supply chain logistics is a plus.
    • Proven experience as a Storekeeper or similar role, preferably in a construction or warehouse environment.
    • Familiarity with inventory management software and computerized tracking systems.
