    SME Loan Officer

    Role Description

    • The Experience SME Loan Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lending process for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), from prospecting and client engagement to loan disbursement and portfolio monitoring.
    • This full-time, on-site role based in Lagos involves assessing SME financial needs, analyzing creditworthiness, preparing and submitting credit applications, and ensuring timely loan processing in line with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • The role includes performing financial analysis, reviewing business plans, conducting site visits, and recommending appropriate loan structures and terms.
    • The Experience SME Loan Officer will maintain strong customer relationships, provide ongoing support and advisory services, and proactively manage loan performance and collections. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to improve credit products, ensure compliance, and contribute to the bank’s SME growth strategy.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant experience in loan officer or SME lending roles, with a strong track record in Loan Officers and Loan Origination responsibilities.
    • Solid knowledge of Finance principles, including financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, and credit risk evaluation.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Underwriting, including credit appraisal, collateral evaluation, and adherence to lending policies and regulations.
    • Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships and provide responsive, solutions-oriented support.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
    • Proven experience working with SMEs in a microfinance or commercial banking environment, preferably within the Nigerian market.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
    • Ability to work on-site in Lagos, manage multiple accounts and deadlines, and use banking or loan management software efficiently.
