Job summary

As a Skip Tracer Officer, the ideal candidate will play a vital role in locating individuals who have defaulted on financial obligations. His/her primary responsibility will be to employ investigative techniques to locate these individuals, Facilitate, contact and ultimately recover outstanding debts. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional research skills, and a commitment to ethical practices.

Key responsibilities:

• Utilize various resources and databases to gather information on debtors’ whereabouts, including public records, online databases, social media platforms, and other skip tracing tools.
• Employ effective skip tracing techniques to locate debtors who have relocated, changed contact information, or are attempting to evade collection efforts.
• Work closely with internal teams such as collections, legal and compliance to develop strategies for locating and contacting debtors while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintained accurate and detailed records of all skip tracing activities, including findings, actions taken and communication with debtors or third parties.
• Communicate effectively with debtors, third-party contacts and internal stakeholders to gather information, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve disputes professionally and courteously.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in skip tracing technique to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration or other related fields.
• Proven experience in skip tracing, collections, investigations, or a related field within the financial services industry with minimum of 3 years experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information and draw actionable conclusion.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with individual from diverse background.
• Proficiency in utilizing skip tracing tools, databases, and online resources to locate individuals.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection and skip tracing activities.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
