Senior MEAL Officer at Roadmap for Women and Youth Development (RAWYOD)

Reports to: MEAL Manager

Location: Damaturu, Yobe State

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior MEAL Officer will:

• Develop and oversee implementation of the organization’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework.
• Lead data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality program data.
• Train staff and project teams on MEAL principles, tools, and methodologies.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with MEAL standards.
• Collaborate with program teams to design and implement impact assessments, baseline studies, and evaluations.
• Ensure that accountability mechanisms are in place and feedback from beneficiaries is used for program improvement.
• Produce accurate and timely reports for donors, partners, and organizational leadership.
• Maintain a robust data management system for program tracking and reporting.
• Any other duties as may be arisen. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Required:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) roles within NGOs or related organizations.
• A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Project Management, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or similar.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, or Power BI).
• Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of project cycle management and logical frameworks.
• Experience in facilitating training sessions for teams.

Nice to Have:       

• Advanced degree or certification in MEAL or related fields.
• Knowledge of donor requirements and compliance for MEAL.
• Experience in gender-sensitive programming and/or working with marginalized groups.
• Other language skills like native both written and verbal.
• Open mindedness and self-confident.

Terms and Conditions

Full-time position based in Yobe state Nigeria, with possible travels within the country. He/she will be reporting to RAWYOD MEAL Manager.
